EGT probe location
hey guys, I had my egt probe welded right behind the spot where the front and rear bank meet(behind that weld)... now I searched and people say that the exhaust cools too quickly, and those who have installed the egt right below the front bank's flange near the 02 sensor say 1500 deg. F is running lean.. Since I am much further down in the exhaust flow, what numbers should I use as far as when to know when I'm running rich/lean...
After driving y'day, typically my EGT's are 650-700 at idle, 1100-1200 under normal acceleration, and near 1400 @ W0T with boost... feedback please

Well I had my EGT probe in the exhaust manifold when I had the SC. The numbers I got were about the same as what you got. So with that, I say the numbers you're getting are about right.

11 psi? WTF?! Highest I got was 9 psi. I'm jealous.
Well I wouldn't so quick to say your boost gauge is off. When I had my SC, my car wasn't running at its peak. I had a leaking WSP ypipe at the time. Recently, I swap it out for a Cattman ypipe. And yes, I noticed some gains surprisingly. So who knows, that leaking ypipe might have costed me an extra psi or two. Imagine that, with a leaking ypipe I still ran a 13.9...hm...I wonder what I would have ran if everything was right?
