SC uninstall - Chapter 1

Hi all:
I took my first little step into removing the supercharger on new year's eve. So far, I have removed: tensioner pulley, idler pulley, the bolt next to the idler (#14), bolt #18, and alternator bolt (#17).

few questions for you people.
1.I didnt have an allen bolt for bolt 14 (by the idler) and now I got a replacement. Will this fit? Will it contact the idler pulley? (the black bolt is the new one)

2.bolt #18 was running close to the belt. Is there a replacement for it? like a flat allen bolt? Or just dont put it back?

3.I remebered someone mentioned to loose the tensioner pulley when adjusting belt tension. I thought the pulley has to be on there tight at all time. can someone explain this to me? from this link

4.I have DanNY's aluminum pulleys and they seem to be warped. The contact surface to the belt on both pulleys is not smooth and it feels bumpy when I move my finger across. Is it normal?

thx in advance

and the related threads started by BlackCat are very informative. thx again, all.

Re: SC uninstall - Chapter 1

you HAVE to loosen the belt tensioner pulley bolt before adjusting the tension or you will break the tensioning bolt up top.

because the bolt to the t-pulley also locks it in position? so if I am adjusting the tension without loosen the bolt, the pulley wont even move?

Yep on both counts!

Yep. Little tiny ridges for grip.

As for the bolts I don't have the installation sheet which shows the bolt hole numbers. Is bolt #14 just below the idler pulley?

hmmmm...I think mine is more like a bump. I will post a picture tonight.

yup, bolt 14 is the one right next to the idler. I checked your uninstall thread and u have a black and flat allen bolt instead of a regular bolt.

thx all for the help~

I really think that the bolt you intend to use will get in the way of the pulley. Thats why its a flat head allen bolt.
