Interesting find on blower...

Not sure if this is common but it appears the new V2 blower I have is already shaved down for potential belt upgrade...both of the potential candidates are ground down quite a bit

can one of the SC members let me know if they think this is just the way it comes and it should be ground down more or you beleive it is new and helpful as it appears.

thanks in advance for the responses I get ...

Actually the V2 I had for my 2001 had the same deal, the two pegs that needed shaving were already grinded down half way.

To get a 3.125 on I had to cut the center peg entirely just to get the belt to clear.

I'll tell you now that you should just grind it as far as possible anyway. Mine came exactly like yours since me and Arlan (funnylittlman) bought ours from Avalon in the same month, his came a week ahead of mine. But yea, mine looked like it was already shaved down, but I was going with the 3.33" pulley and I didn't want to take any chances with Stillen since I saw that they could've shaved it down more. I wish I could show you how mine looked when I was done, but I'll tell you that I used a dremel and shaved the pegs diameters almost all the way to the hole for the hex bolt. No alignment problems for the past 4K miles I've been blown.

When you say shaved what do you mean exactly, the plate has a couple of pegs that are flat (even dating back to the V1 setup) due to the fact that that is how the belt routes. It is flat to accomodate the belt. If your seeing something different, then beats me.

The plate comes like that. You'll still have to file the posts down a little more if you're going with a 3.33" or smaller pulley. It may look like it will clear but trust me the belt will rub against them.
