Most of the guys i've seen here have been running on their stock tranny. Hal has been running his turbo'd max for about a yr ( i think ) on stock EVERYTHING. He just changed his clutch and ran high 12's at around 8-9 psi. From what i see the max has a pretty strong tranny, my suggestion would be to keep the boost under 10 ( unless your really trying to get some amazing track numbers ) and you should be fine.

I am pretty sure Hal has done extensive work to his tranny.

If you are a manual I would get a new clutch for sure and might as well through on a new flywheel while you are in there. If you are auto you will need a valve body recal and a tranny cooler. Synthetic fluid would be recommended in both cases.
