ecu wont work so whats next
ok my car is a 99.5 cali spec, my engine will have lower compression. now my issue is with a z32 maf larger injectors and lower compression, i will need something to tune the car. now of course a jwt ecu would work if he programmed 99 ecu's but he doesnt. I know i could get a 96 ecu and try and make it work but since im obdII and cali spec, and the car has the immobilizer, i dont think the ecu jimmy rig is the best thing. What do you think? If i dont go with the ecu, the what should i do to tune this car?

this is just my opinion....but I REALLY don't see Emanage being able to effectively run your setup, the low compression just seems to present a prob IMO. I think you need to either stick with going JWT somehow or a HIGHER level standalone....you 'll probably spend more money on the dyno trying to get this to work when off break you could have gone another route...just my $.02, I'm no expert, but I really see it as being more problematic.
check out the E-manage Yahoo mailing list...you might wanna ask those guys some questions there and read up on it-->

One more time www.sdsefi.com
The most affordable, easiest to use standalone there is.

I have heard good things about the Emanage from Greddy on the real.....

I mean...if you SERIOUSLY can't go with JWT...go SDS like mzmtg suggested, but be forwarned though, IMO it is NOT VERY "amateur" user friendly at all...I'm playing around with Zdyne standalone(very user friendly) right now for my buddys CRX and even making somewhat drivable N/A maps is a HUGE task
and finding a good area tuner in our area for SDS(or any standalone) is next to none as far as Nissans go...majority of the shops here that program SDS deal with SB/BB Chevys, and VWs.

You can advance and retard timing with the e-manage so the low compression will be no problem. I'd say e-manage with 370cc injectors, goot till ~420whp. After that, you need some tricks. I still think its possible to make a 99.5 into a 98, just need some time and bost FSM's so you can match the ECU pin outs of the O2 set up. JWT did it, cant be that hard

Thanks Mardigras, I will be getting the emanage to tune my car. I still have one question though, with 370 cc injectors, will i be maxing the injectors at 400fwhp? also i know jwt told me that i did not need to get an external fpr and to keep my stock one so that i had a fuel pump that was 1 to 1.
Using the e-manage will i have to upgrade my fpr?

Your motor should be able to handle more than 420bhp, so you are limited by the injectors set up in e-manage. This is why I went with the JWT 555cc program.

Gawking minds wanna know when you expect a test session on the JWT program

E-Manage handles up to 50% larger so that is 370cc. Stockers are 240cc on a VQ30DE

you guys mention all this stuff about running out of range on the stock/Z32 MAFs...what about a "dual pop" program? you can do it with an SAFC..check out twinturbo.net as i'm not familiar with EVERYTHING but it seems to make sense..2 sensors, alot more range, right?
also, what about a mustang MAFS? i thought they had a bigger range than maximas.
another thing, why is it that the stock MAFS runs out of range at 420hp when nigel and hal are running well beyond that? is there something i'm missing?

Hey it was worth a shot. I really need to get my hands on a FSM to figure out how that works, thus how to get around it.
In all seriousness, though, I'd think things would be easier if you could use a JWT because there are already many using it, and you wouldn't have to deal with all the headaches of configuring a standalone system.
