VQ30DET engine?

VQ30DET engine?
Do any of you boosted guys have a VQ30DET engine? I was searching for that engine out of curiosity as an alternative to turbocharging the stock engine, and I found this site...
http://www.sssautomotive.com.au/Nissan.htm
Would it be safer to swap the VQ30DE with a VQ30DET than putting on a turbo kit on a stock engine? And would the swap even be possible?...because on the site it says the engine is designed for AWD.

1 person to my knowledge has done it.. tiley99, I think is his screen name... although I have not seen any posts from him...
Why not just use your current engine and slap a turbo on it?

Full engine swap is not possible due to the the way the engine is mounted. Swapping all the internals is however, as well as some of the other parts, like the intake manifold, etc. I don't know how the mounting was done for the turbo, it may be mountable via the stock method, but I doubt it. bags is right, Tilley99 is the only guy who's done it on the .org

You would need to change some of the internals to match the FWD specs of your current tranny, and then change the mounts, All together it would cost around the same, But I think the VQ30DET should be better all around becasue it should have better injectors, ECU, low compresion pistons, and all the other neat things a FI comes with that a NA engine doesnt, I think it will be better to get this engine, Its a lot of work, but its well worth it, I did lots of research on this, Im planning to get a Turbo soon to

I didn't do the full swap (har har I'm Rob too )
I didn't think he could get the block to fit. How'd he mate the transmissions? Why is he selling the internals rather than the full block itself
I think he just swapped in the internals

The VQ30DET cannot be used in the Maxima, it was designed for a RWD platform, and the engine block is different, with different engine mounting points. You can however, use all the engine internals, and swap them into a VQ30DE block from the Maxima. That is what Rob (Tilley) did. Benefits? Lower compression pistons to withstand higher boost levels with less chance of detonation.

He made it a Tilley custom , he made it fit , it was alittle to the side.....

I know he made it fit... with a VQ30DE block... I still have the pictures he posted saved on my HD... all the internals were swapped...
