Just Got my Turbo
He guys, just as a heads up. I recently purchased a Turbo costing me $600, it seems to be a hybrid. From what I can see, the Intake side of the turbo has Garrett with AR .60 and the exhaust side has the letter "T" for Turbonetics with codes of .48 STG1 LOT 3. Not sure what that means. I will post pics of the Turbo as soon as possible. Mybe you guys can give me some feedback.
Also, I have a guy who is willing to custom make pipings for our Turbo projects. This beats buying a complete Kit for servral grand and at the same time dealing with ****ty craftsmanship. This guy does professional welds with both aluminum and Steel and custom bends. he has all the machines for that type of work. The intake side of the pipings are made of high grade aluminum and the exhaust side is made of Stainless Steel.
He will work on my car as a template. Once done I'll post pics of the pipings and exhaust. The pipes will be heat treated "Powder Coated". Until then I will keep you posted.

Sounds nice! Are you running an intercooler?

I had thoughts of doing the same thing, but there's a lot more to boosting then just buying a turbo and welding some pipe together.
Fuel management?
Oil flow?
Cooling?
Location?
Wastegate?
:/ bleah. Don't be surprised if it winds up to cost you a few thousand.

Fuel Management - Vortech Super Universal FMU.
Boost Management - Blitz Dual SBC Spec S.
I want to stay at low boost between 4-8psi for now. I belive the stock injectors will accomadate for this.
The guy who is setting up my turbo system wants to istall a TEC3 ECU. He can program it for my car, But I'm trying to minimize on costs.
