Raxles

Any boosted fellas running these? I'm partial to ordering these due my wheel bearings failing at 55k miles/ CV's are on their way.......Being lowered with some heavy a$$ 18's doesn't help.......Anyways, Just want an idea of the quality of this product and whether it will be a real solution to our crappy bearings and cv's. Prices don't seem too bad- About 130/axle. Peace_

So, when you bought them, did they come with wheel bearings? No?

No, just the axles and cv joints.

Does Autozone pay the towing charge or the labor to install the free new ones? No.

Does AutoZone take apart a returned axle piece by piece and send you a 3MB PDF with pictures and narrations telling you the exact reason and approximate milage of the failure?

And overnight a new one to you the day before you take the bad axle off and return it? So you have 0 downtime and don't have to drive anywhere?

Didn't think so.

Marti at Raxles is the man - If their axles cost $200 more than AutoZone, I'd still buy them.

(By the way, after he showed me why his axle failed on my car, it was very obvious it was my fault from being too low....his axles are perfectly built.)

Just to be clear, Marti doesn't pay for towing or replacement labor, either, as far as I know. The point I was trying to make is, yes, Autozone's parts are cheaper and have a lifetime warranty, but they don't last as long. So you end up with other costs involved with replacing the lifetime warrranty parts. In the long run it is probably cheaper and certainly a lot less hassle to go with a quality part like what Marti sells.

I use Autozone for parts that are easy to replace, like the brake master cylinder on my Explorer. The first one lasted a year, but it's easy to replace, and you usually get plenty of advance warning when it goes bad. We'll see how long the second one lasts.

Not boosted - just lurking a bit.

Got a passenger side CV/axle assembly in from Raxles. Very high quality product. Strongly recommend them. -& yes, Marty was a true professional; pleasure to do business with.
