oil lines ?

What size oil lines are being used for turbo application? 4AN feed and 6AN return? What line lenghts are needed to go from oil pressure sender to turbo and turbo to oil pan?

Any good, low cost suppliers over the internet? I found that Russell oil lines and fittings can be found at my local Autozone, so that makes things eaiser.

What can I expect to pay for all the parts I need? I think I remeber seeing a $300 figure not too long ago.

Thanks,

Ted

I would say use the biggest return line you can fit... my brother's Supra is using an -12AN

We're using -4AN and -10AN on the return which is the standard size for a T3/T04 combination. Check Summitracing.com. Aeroquip's are pretty cheap compared to Earl's stuff.

Is anyone using the Aeroquip socketless performance hose? (you will have to navigate as there was no direct link)

Also, what length will be needed?

Thanks

I'm told 8 AN is the minimum for a return, and even that is a little small. Most run 10, some run 12, it all depends on what you can fit.

and length is going to depend on where you're tapping your return. For the feed, you'll most likely need 6 ft.

Ok, looks like I will go with -4AN and -10AN.

I planned on tapping the oil pan for return. If I am not mistaken, PFI kit uses the crankcase for a return, but there were problems associated with that. Where does the stillen SC return go? I read through the install directions, but it wasn't too clear as to where the return oil went. I am assuming I can get an oil supply in the same way the SC gets a feed, right?

Can anyone email me a picture of how they have the oil return set up?

Thanks

The Stillen uses a custom water pump cover with a nipple attached as the return.

I'd say tap the lower pan. I know everyone says upper pan, but there are disadvantages to that also. I tapped my lower pan. The most important thing is to try and have the oil return on the turbo face as close to straight down as possible and to make sure the line doesn't have any uphill sections. Gravity is doing most of the work.
