timing control.

i have been pondering thison my pathfinder, putting a procharger on it with intercooler, blah blah.

now what is stumping me is doping the timing control without a jwt ecu with boost ability {Ie timing control}

do you guys have a chip thatc omes with your s/c kits do such a thing? or just bolt on and pray?

i have never looked that far into the nissan s/c kits enough till recently to warrant a useless thread such as this

the pathfinder's VG33 uses a distributor right?? why not use the MSD BTM(unless it uses a DIS ignition) BTM will retard X degrees per pound of boost. J&S safegaurd is another method, but has more features and is more expensive but seems to work well on DIS ignitions unlike the BTM

thats what i had planned on, but i was more or less wondering about the maxima in general as well. the pathy has a vg30 with a nifty distro right smack dab in the front of it.

i do know that a BTM is a big pain in the *** to set up. but thats what dyno time is for i guess.

the funny thing is in general from what I've seen a lot of the boosted Maixmas on here aren't using a form of timing control...but of the VQ guys making big power the J&S Safegaurd timing system seems to be the most widely used unit probably most likely cause it works with DIS ignitions unlike the BTM. I think Mardigrasmax was using it on his Maxima when he made 430hp on his SC/N20 setup

We now have an interface adapter module to simplify the installation. This eliminates the bulky WeatherPack connectors and the need for special crimpers.

I haven't updated the Maxima install page yet, but you can see the adapter on our 350z install page:

Johm. i don't own a max or 350z, but if you can fandangle one for a 95 pathfinder se auto that would be cool! im sure some of the pathy boys would like it as well. being that im not the only nut case forced inducting a 4k lb underpowered box on wheels

John,

Did everything go alright with the "project" on my350Z forum? I hope you got all the information you needed that day. Happy New Year!

Chung:

Thanks again for helping me with those tests.

We shipped about ten units to those guys. Two installed so far with good results.

Still waiting for the dancing bananas to show up from the others.
