Keep or sell MEVI

Just curious if you guys think I should keep or sell my MEVI. I have been considering selling it to fund the rest of my turbo project. My thinking is along the lines that a t04e is going to give me plenty of top end and my primary desire is for drag racing performance anyhow, not highway performance.

The only place a MEVI may not help at the track is an NA Application.

If you're boosted, it helps a great deal at the track.....like for me - +40hp is nothing to laugh at...and IIRC Turbo95Max I believe gained similar results (Turbo example).

I say keep it.

true but it moves the powerband to the top end versus making more power on the bottom end like the usim. I would Sell the mevi

I see your point....

But the loss in low-end compared to high-end gain is a huge difference.

For me it was 7tq, 6hp lost in low end, +19tq and 40-something hp gain in high end. Definately not a sacrifice I'm going to care about.

Now, of course, depending on your turbo setup, there may be alot more boost at 3kRPM as compared to a SC....and that may be a big variable then.

Now is my turn since I had the SCer and now have the turbo. With the US manifold, it gives you all that torque. is good dont get me wrong once you get rolling. I say rolling because you we have front wheel drive cars. Is not desirable to have all that torque from a dead stop. You get lots of wheel spin. Now w/the MEVI, and turbo its a great combo. You dont lose anything because the HP and torque both build up. Look at all my dyno plots, look at my torque curve. See that sucker go up and up and then peaks and falls. Now look at that HP looks good right? thats the MEVI the ability to keep on going and going really fast. Keep the MEVI. Just remember after 9PSI you will need 300Z injectors to be safe. Keep the MEVI youll get the loss of torque back w/your turbo. Trust me you will. Here are my dyno plots from beging to the end when I was dyno tunning at 9.7PSI

draw your conclusions from it. Keep in mind this engine had bad compression in #2 cylinder, 2.5 exhaust and it was still making over 300HP and torque. W/3 inch exhaust I know I would have made at least 335HP and torque. It makes that much difference.

There you have it - 2 people with hands on experience.

IMO - The only people that need to consider this (whether or not to have it) are NA People.

The MEVI does wonders for any boosted car.

(And no, I don't sell them anymore, so this is not a plug)

IMHO you WANT IT.

Lower TQ in the lower rpm ranges.

Like off the line.

And your over 5k rpm in every gear except 5th after 1st anyway

Keep it. IMO, I like having a more balanced powerband. With FWD, too much torque can become unnecessary. Like everybody says, it really helps out for boosted people.

Less Torque down low means less wheel spin = Traction!!!! Mardigras ran the 11.90 with MEVI and the guy who bought his SC uses one(requin)....
