SC belt question

OK as most of you know I am going to run a 2.875" pulley on my V2 SC.

Gates belt is K060703 &
Gatorback belt is a 4060703 but it is suggested to go with 4060700 to really avoid a slipping belt.

The problem isi went to Auto Zone to get the 4060700 belt and all they carry is 4060705 or 4060695.

Simple question which one do I get? OR
Do I need to get the 4060700 belt? and where?

Get the K60703. That is what I have. I would not go with any other unless its suggested. Look around for other places, cuz it took me awhile to locate the proper belt. Good Luck.

I am trying to avoid going with Gates since the slip easier. Can I go with the 695 or will it be too small to fit?

I beleive it has to have 6 ribs in the belt and then the length of it. (i.e. K060703 is 6 ribs 7 ft 3 inches..) its something like that. you get the idea. compare the the inside and the length.

go to another autozone thats not as busy. Some clerks are just plain lazy fcks. Ask the clerk to go the back and grab the next shorter belt under that one. Part number may be totally different.

Or buy a gates belt, keep the receipt and then go to autozone and grab a gater back thats as close that size as possible.

Alot of the time the store is not goin to have it. patience and alot of phone calls are needed. I spent almost a whole day lookin for the right belt...surprising pep boys, kragen, even autozone does not have it. try NAPA or some low pro auto store that is not a franchise, they might have it. I went to Big O auto parts doubt u even heard of it.

Goodyear may not make a 700 belt. I couldn't find one locally to save my life.

LatinMax, I would say get the 695. 8/10's of an inch difference isn't really that much, and shouldn't be a problem.

Ya Goodyear did not carry the belt either.
The reason I want to go with the Gatorback belt is that it will not slip even when a little loose. (something about the cross cut in it.
I don't think the 700 is made. I may just have to try the 695.
I just would hate to have to pull it all out because the belt does not fit.

Who is running the 2.875 pulley with the V2? What belt are you running and how tight was it going on?

i know this doesn't answer your question.... but i was looking in the jc whitney catalog and they have this adjustable emergency replacment belt that you dont have to take off or adjust the pulley... just wrap it
around and snap it on.. in case the s/c belt breaks while on a trip.
i think that would be handy cause you can change it quick then replace when you get home

But on the Gator Back belts should I go with the 4060695 Shorter
or 4060705 longer.

From the above post it says that 4060703 is a little too long for my pulley and that you can get a little more than a 90 degree turn so will there be room to go with the 4060695?
