After a 4 month wait its here!

I finally got my JWT ECU!!! I had been getting the usuall Ben put off for a while. I called up on Wednesday and asked for Jim, the receptionist asked for my name and what I was calling for, then she put me on hold for ~5min. On pops Ben, "Hi, what can I help you with", I say "Ben I was calling for Jim to read him the riot act and see if that might help get my ECU done", Ben "Let me check I'll call you back". Ben calls back in 5min, "It will go out today". Sure enough I got it! He even sent me a JWT license frame plate and two small stickers.

Its a Turbo program for Z32maf w/ 516cc injectors with a 7200rpm limit. Their is supposed to be a problem that its too rich on cold start up, they were trying to fix that. It was taking so long I just asked for the problem program. They will send me a prom with the new version when its available, no charge. If its too rich on start Up I may need to run a start button, like a S2k, easy enough.

I should have the maf, injectors, ECU and E01 installed this weekend. I want to be sure the ECU is driavable before I install the turbo. I need one little exhaust flange to get it the turbo down pipe to mate up with my 3" exhaust. Turbo should be in the weekend after that! I cant wait! Four+ months with out boost for me has really blown I still beat several Tegs and other light duty racers w/o boost

Look out bishes, I'm back!

Still on a stock motor for now. I want to get the turbo system bugs worked out before I do the built motor.

Have juice, will spray!

I will push the HP level to the 400whp range on the stock motor. Proll 550whp with the built motor. If it holds together, the trans that is, maybe more.

Still running the J&S Ultra Safeguard with the JWT ECU. Im talking to John about doing a two step function on the box to get the turbo to spool and hold boost between shifts.

Did you use reverse y-pipe?

Are you going to build up a 3.5 liter engine?

Did they make that turbo program just for you? Could they do a program for 555cc? How much would it cost?

Yowzah! I was just wondering this morning on the way to work about how your project has been coming along. Can't wait to hear about how the built motor runs.

How does Jim feel about running the J&S along with the turbo program? Does he think it's needed in your case because of the nitrous? Or does he think it's overkill?

Its a PFI kit, T4/60-1 .81AR.

Sure the program is available for 555cc. IIRC Loren prototyped the program and Ferhan is also running it.

Yes a 3.5L, I sent SGP the doner internal parts for the custom rods and pistons they now offer, so I got a hook up on the rods and pistons and ARP bolt kit, they are on the way too!.

I didnt even ask Jim, Im sure he would say its a problem, he thinks the Apexi AFC is a problem with his ECU. I am running it because it can do somting the JWT ECU cant, retard on detonation. The JWT ECU should not detonate, BUT, at the ragged edge of the injectors or a freak event could cause detonation. With out the J&S I would loose a motor, with it I'm safe! Retarding a few degrees with the J&S for nitrous will also be a big help, if John can get the two step studder box effect to work on the J&S that will be another great feature!

Hey Mardi, you should come to the MIR meet in March (check DC section). Think your car will be up and running fine by then?

The ECU, Z32 Maf and 516cc injectors are in and running. The cold start issue did rear its ugly head, so I have to use a push button to star the car, like and S2k, but ghetto. Its rainy and icey but I did take it for a run, Im still NA, but it did feel stronger than my stock ECU. I'm sure when a turbo ECU is driven with out boost it is programed very similar to an NA ECU. The 7200rpm limit is nice too! Perhaps I can get the E01 in today, or at least this week.

could you explane what you meant buy cold starting issue and needing a push botton to start the car how is that any different than just holding the key forward

New program will be finished "next week" according to Ben I'd say a few months.

When the car is cold and the key is turned to start the ECU dumps fuel to help with cold startup. With these extra large injectors its way too much fuel. If you put the key in the normal running position and crank the motor via an external switch the ECU does not dump the extra fuel on start up.
