I did the same, are you going to do all the plumbing and mounting and welding yourself? Thats the only way to save bigtime.

For the most part yes....I'm thinking about having grand muffler make the reverse y-pipe for me though.....other than that. I plan to do everything myself.
What turbo are you running?? I actually dont want a quick spooler.....just a medium fast spooler. Something thats comes to live from say 3500 to 6500

the only way you going to get a spooler in that range is something like a t4 ball bearing. Most t3/t4s are going to spool around 1500-2500.

I got a T3/T4 h3trim. I start spooling at 1500 and go full by 2500rpm. That allows me to get a jump on t4 ball bearings like Jay25 has. But dont take him much time to catch up with me then with the higher top end.

All depends on what you want. Turbos are very intricate when picking what you want to what the engine can make it do. Its not like a s/c where you install it and boost. Too many variables on the turbo to look at.

Grand is going to rip you a new one on the ReverseY. When you want them to make custom stuff, he raises the price bar like 2notches. Im not a fan of them anymore after they ripped me off on my small parts.

thats my plan although im not in a situation where there is a turbo kit being produced for my car so its the only way

so far ive got walbro 255lph low pressure fuel pump, battery relocated to the trunk and a welder

next is 300zx ecu and MAF with zemulator and wideband O2 and all neccisary gauges (id like to prove my friend s wrong with a 13.9 NA on drag radials)

final stage will be manditory turbo parts like the turbo (proboly a full t4 non ballbearing A/R .60comp/.58 or .63 turb) wastgate, bypass valve (pure sleeper) 370cc injectors, mandrel bends and all the other msc nickle and dime stuff' no intercooler at first since i think i might do water to air but not 100% sure yet

with this done ill still be way under 3k

Yeah I was afraid of that. BUt I cant get anyone to just sell me one. I heard of a place in swuanee that does turbo stuff.....perhaps they could make me one. Once I get to that point I will check around now that you said that about grand muffler.
Yeah I'm still reasearching on the turbos.......2500 I could live with, I really dont want to be boosting to much.
I was also thinking of just running low boost and perhaps a side mount intercooler if I can find a place to fit it. Kinda hide the fact of being turbo by hiding the intercooler. Maybe a stupid idea, will has that out in due time as well

If you are talking about having the reverse y pipe made, I am planning on getting both flanges, gaskets the piping, lined flex section and y area non welded from WSPD. This way you can basically reverse the y forward along the engine support member and by modifying the front engine mount the piping can take a hard 90deg right towards the up pipe and to the turbo. The left over flex can be a great part of the uppipe to prevent binding and allowing the turbo to be mounted rigidly around where the battery tray used to be.

Also a great side mount intercooler that could easily fit in the drivers front well would be a MkIV supra i/c, they usually sell for around $125 on ebay when you can find them. This will shorten piping considerably and if you vent the back of the drivers wheel well and remove the foglight flow will be very good and you have achieved the sleeper look.
