turbo and intake question

ok this maybe a really dumb question, but i need an answer...i was looking at the pics that were recently posted by the person wit the 3.5 custom turbo...and i realized something....theres no intake at the intake manifold...the intercooler piping is...ok that was my sherlock holmes esque discover...what can i say im a little slow...so then i realized how the hell am i going to get an intake when eventually i want a turbo...so im guessin i cant get the injen like i originally anticipated....but then again what about like the wrx or any other cars that have a stock turbo...people still get aftermarket intakes...im so confused someone help me out....when ssr finishes the turbo will i be able to use the intake or should i just save my money....thanks for helping the moron please dont point and laugh

intakes for turbocharged cars are attached to the compressor side of the turbo.:

if you turbo your car with the noledge you have theres not a good chance your engine will last long

I'm not sure how to answer this. The intake path for a turbo setup consists of the filter, a pipe connecting the filter to the maf, the maf (for a draw through design), another pipe, the turbo compressor inlet, the compressor, pipe to the intercooler, intercooler, pipe to throttle body, intake manifold. So adapting an aftermarket intake to the front end of the intake tract can be done, but it unnecessarily complicates things. Just attach an appropriately sized filter to the pipe going to the maf and call it a day.
