Does the CAI drop temperature w/V1 or V2? took some readings using OBD-II read on

Saturday I had to work. Took some Intake Air Temp readings from the car using the OBD-II. My current setup V2 CAI installed using 3.5 inch piping and 3.60 stock pulley. First reading the car sat at idle temperature went from 39 F to 104 F. I was like Jesus thats pretty warm. Took it on a spin and the temperature dropped from 104F to 72 F in about 3 minutes. My speed was 55MPH, Temperature outside was 40 F. Did the same thing on my way back home, this time I jumped on the freeway. Average speed 75MPH, IAT temp never left 72F. I decided to boost and see what happened. Temp jumped instantly from 72F to 91F.

I am currently boosting 8PSI since I installed the CAI. Point of the matter is the CAI does drop the temperature. The pipe is unprotected. Ill try to heat proof that car as soon as I get some more funds and will let you guys know if that DEI heat cover keeps heat off the pipes or does it help store heat. Keep in mind I am using the OBD-II while driving the car and that is how I am getting these numbers.

I tried it on my turbo maxima, but never hit the freeway nor did I boost it. Average speeds 45MPH. Temp outside was in the mid 30s. IAT temp from the turbo maxima a whopping 39 F. Thats very cold
