Need help taking the S?C off

I am tearing apart my S/C so I can put my new belt on, but i am having trouble taking apart the one bolt...the pulley w/o the rails bolt. Do u use a special wrench or something... I remember i put on pretty east but DAYIM...taking it of is a biatch.....I am stuck ..I bought so many tools and none of them seems to work. Anyone using a special tool like a snap on or something? Any suggerstions B4 I drill a hole to the sidewall to get to it?

i think you mean the allen bolt behind the pulley .yeh its a b!tch to get off. if im correct you use a 4m hexball socket to get it off with a universal, i brought mine from snap-on.. you just have to take your time and be patient.. but ask jay25 he does this all day long...

naw I meant the pulley w/o rail 19mm bolt, next to the alternator. I think I need an angled wrench to take that bolt off.Its in the worst place to wrench. I am slightly strippin it. I need to take that out so I can take out the washer that don't belng there. I got the metal pulleys which my friend who helped me installed it in the first place thought that a washer need to be there....oh well live and learn. Jay where are u great one I summon the S/C guru to help me...

Yeah, that's a pita to get off, you'll need a long extension and one of those little bendy u-joint deals to work in there. Also when you take it out, just back it out enough to clear the bracket. Don't take it all the way out. It's a PITA to put back in if you take it all the way out.

IIRC I used a 19mm open end wrench for that bolt. Don't worry about stripping the ends, it'll come off. The worst part is fitting that bolt back in if your hands are big.

I finally took that off and found some misc. problems that led to my belt shreddin. for one my friend put the wrong screw in...he put a regular screw instead of the flat head allen wrench...therefore throwing the pulley out of alignment. hmmm thats why I was gettin blet shavings on the side...another question is for all u guys with 2.87 pulley, are u using any gator back belts? my option is either the 070605 or the 060695....or go back to my gates 060703. any input guys?

Go to NAPA and buy a set of gear wrenches, that will speed the install of the blower by 2-3 hours. Dont believe me? ask any of these guys that have seen me in action: Max4speed, allgo, Mardigrasmax, maximarider. To get that 19mm bolt out grab that sweet gear wrench crawl under the car and get it out. will get it out in 5 mins. The rest here you have it the tool to take off that allen bolt behind the idler
