Greddy ignition Harness, Code 0201 Quick help please
Da-max just rewired the ignition harness back into the car. The car runs great, however i get an 0201 code, what could it be? the car retards and advances timing perfectly and idles perfectly. I get the cose upon startup.

Whats odd is that you keep pulling these codes that are not even part of the FSM at all. 0201 doesnt show up in there.
But a general 0201 is Injector circuit malfunction cylinder1.
That still bugs me like I told you on the phone on how you are pulling all these codes that dont even show in the FSM.

also I wonder if that code ONLY appeared after we messed with the timing?

it did only appear after the timing I was pulling codes all week. After last night we can attest that this car is running perfectly fine!!!!!!!Man you should have caught our top end runs on 50 After 110 my car REALLY SHINES!!!!I need thaut exhaust on bad though! every time i let my foot off the gas it like i'm hitting brakes.

Corey, you gotta get that $30 obdII reader so we can make sure we pulling the codes accurately. Or roll to an autozone in the mean time while you order that reader.
Even the early 2000 FSM shows codes 180 and 217. Nothing in between.

Corey...this is gonna be a pain, but if you want lug your desktop comp into the garage and take the timing out that I set and see if the code still pops up....probably won't but you just might wanna check.
also does anyone have info on how timing adv/retard on coilpack systems work?? I'm a little confused on that...I assume the ECU just sends a corresponding voltage signal that tells the coils to retard or advance? also would the OEM knock sensor interfere in anyway??
right now I advanced him 1* degree throughout in vaccum and -1* in boost just to see what happen and it runs nice and clean...I'd be more comfortable with boost referenced retard(ie- X* per pound of boost), but ah well...we'll see this saturday hopefully
Dixit...does the OBDII reader show real-time timing??
