Look what arrived at my house for my project....
Thats right, finally got the spare I was looking for. Its a 2000 Maxima engine with the AT tranny with only 22k miles on it. I know I dont need the AT tranny but it came with it and lets just say it cost less than you'd pay for just the tranny. Im going to sell the AT tranny to whoever wants it.
But got it today, got it off the pallet, removed the AT tranny, got it on the engine stand (thanks jaime for letting me borrow the hoist), removed some unecessary parts, took the intake manifold off because my main importance was the injectors. I got RCengineering 440cc from the 350z and wanted to make sure I could test fit them without issues and it looks like a go!
Tommorow will remove almost everything on the engine right down to the block. Dont worry about the leaves and rust on certain parts, dont care cause most of it is coming off anyways.
Some parts will be for sale, some wont, havent decided which ones, but you can ask me on for now.
And I highly recommend to NOT do things like this (lifting the engine with a hoist, taking the AT tranny off and then getting it on the engine stand alone) alone because its dangerous! I did it myself, but I dont recommend it. Its not worth your life.

Addae, its a disease man, like cancer, its spreading like wildfire now. Dont know if there is a cure for this one
The injectors may look small, but somehow they definetely putting out ~260cc or something.
Plan on buildup is to do abut 8.5:1 CR, get things strengthened, whatever I can do. But mainly just lower CR pistons and forged Rods. Also going to use the engine to make my new piping for the turbo, as well as going to try to make my own headers after I get the header flange cut.
This is going to be a nice after work/weekend project.

What clips we talking about? The clips that hold the injector to the rail? Cause that one will fit, but not fully, not really needed.
The actual harness is different, so you have to cut all your stock ones and solder the ones they provide.

Only Power Enterprise injectors are plug-n-play, but cost $800+.
Dixit got one HELL of a deal on those 440s if I do say so myself.

The deal was one that I couldnt pass up, thanks to Alex for finding it.
But now im too concerned about doing the swap out on the car, cause taking that intake manifold is pure hell. I mean it was bad enough taking it off on the engine stand.
Alex, dont think I will be getting rid of the heads and cams, Im going to need those for the engine swap, otherwise Id have to tax them from my original engine which would be a good 6hr swap over since you need to pull the timing cover and chain off as well as lower oil pan. Lots of permatex sealer will be needed

IC, just figured you'd be opening them both up, so one would have heads left over.

Dont mind me that they cut it out, motor is still good, spins fine and was running. Given there are leaves all over the crap. When removing the lower intake plenum, rack of the leaves fell into the opening to the valves. Cant really do much except deal with it. I mean the heads, cams, pistons, crank, its all coming off anyways.
What hurts is tearing apart a perfectly good 22k miles WORKING motor. Its just wrong but it feels so good.

Yea, I went up there to peep this motor...by the time I got there, Dixit had it stripped down. Hah, Those cylinders heads look extremely dark...is that normal or you think someone like Kirk used to have that?

Dixit,
Do yourself a favor and buy some Mechanix or similar gloves.
Wouldn't have helped much on the TC drop, but they really make a difference on the couple days after pain/healing with cuts/scrapes.

spanishrice: going slow is for old people. I get the job done quick and efficiently and quality.
Alex: I was never a fan of gloves cause you can "feel" or grab like a 10mm bolt. Plus FastOrange removed all the grease. But cuts and shiet, just comes with the job

Yeow, that **** hurts. Remember when I gouged my thumb over at Kirk's buddies place? My stupid thumbnail is JUST NOW starting to look normal...
I agree with the not wearing gloves part. You just don't get the same tactile sensations...and I need to feel stuff when working on it.
EDIT-- Including when I stab the **** out of my fingers with a straight slot screwdriver...

On 5th gens that's on the ECU bracket, so he probably doesn't have it.
I have one from a 2001 though, how much?

Well for some reason some 5th gens (earlier runs) actually had them in the engine bay as MrGone pointed out to me on his moms car. If you see if in the pictures point it out to me and you can have it. Cause I dont know what that part looks like in the engine.
I only know what the one near the ECU looks like as Alex is talking about.
