Well a 10sec SER made 100+ 1/4 mile pass's before breaking, according to that article. If my trans was taking 13psi with out failing, I would think this routine should make it take 14-16 no problem.

Sounds like a plan man.

I guess the old saying that you aren't making power unless you're breaking stuff and making it stronger clearly applies to people like you Mardi.

I applaud your efforts/progress man.

Damn... I never knew Maxima forums had a Turbo section <duckin>. Cobra MAF is maxed out at 350WHP- I maxed it out with my GTi-R powered SE-R at pretty low boost (for a SR20). JWT offers what they call a Subtractor program which basically cuts the MAF reading into HALF, the Cobra MAF is good to 700WHP theoritically. I got 547WHP on my bone stock bottom end SR20 (54C block which probably is the strongest 4 banger in the world stock) at 25psi of boost runing a large Garrett GT40 turbo- using Tomei side fed 740cc injectors and Cobra MAF with the subtractor program and No2 daughter board for Aquamist water injection. Cryo treated and shoot peened trans- cost for this is 350 bux from JWT. Another thing we SR folks do is weld up the tranny case. Its been found that the case actually flexes under very high loads and cracks- around the diff area. We basically weld the casting holes to prevent the case from spliting. 500HP is about max for a .82 AR exhaust housing with Stage 3 wheel and Super 60 compressor wheel in a TO4E compressor housing, I found this out when I hit a power celing in my SR powered SE-R. There is an alternative to having trannies blow left and right- I never really beat on my car much <right> but I never blew the tranny on it eighter. PAR makes a special straight cut gear set for SR20 FWD trannies that have been proven to hold up 500WHP with no problems. I seriously doubt axles will break, as we ran stock ones even at that high of a power level. I'm getting my custom Ypipe made by a fabricator, I'm going to attempt GT40ing my VQ30DE-K motor.

To strengthen the gears theres cryotreating, shot peening, hot and cold tempering, use of high carbon steel, etc and a bunch of other stuff I've probably forgotten since I took my materials science classes in engineering.

I think you should just get a dog box made Who needs syncrhos or quiet operation.
