I am trying to decide what to do with my JWT ECU. I also have the MEVI. I can't decide whether to keep the ECU to have modified at a LATER time to use 370cc injectors, or just sell it right now and fully fund the rest of my turbo project and get the turbo installed sooner, albeit using a stock ECU. In light of the recent developments with using Greddy E-Manage with our cars, which would you suggest?

I'll initially be running low boost on stock injectors on a stock ECU anyways, so what's the point in having a $600 ECU sitting in my basement when I could have $600 sitting in my pocket to pay for the rest of the parts I NEED for my turbo kit, and then just get another ECU later if I want to modify it.

 

Im in the same boat with a S/C project...the JWT modified computer for S/C, raised Rev limiter, and the 370's is only around $600-$700...

I have a JWT-ECU on order with just the rev limiter..when I recieve I am going to sell it to fund my project then later on send a different computer out and have it upgraded for everything (cheaper)

Also, call JW and see how LONG the wait is on a re program. That may answer your own question. And the cost


I am personally trying to fund bigger injectors AND The ECU. So I have to find twice the amount of money.

 

neal, i had jim wolf send me out the boosted program e-prom only. since i already had the NA ECU with the board they put in it all they have to change is the e-prom.

so you just pop out the NA e-prom and pop in the boosted e-prom (to whatever you want to set it up for i.e...turbo/370cc/A32 MAF, SC/370cc/A32 MAF, turbo/555cc/Z32 MAF...you get it.) and boom there you have the boosted program ECU.

anytime you get a modification to the ECU its a standard $100 charge.

if you bought the JWT NA ECU from JWT in the first place...all they will ask you for is the little set of numbers on the e-prom to make sure it is a compatible ecu to be swapped. and if you bought it from another company they will just ask you to fax your invoice to them to make sure you were the purchaser. i think the non-compatible ecu's are the older ones they first produced. since you got yours not too long ago...i think you should be good.

i got my e-prom in 2-3 weeks.

That is the best news I've heard in a long time actually, thankyou. I was figuring I had to send my ECU back to them to get reprogrammed and it would be fall before I got it back.

This question goes out to the boosted guys with tuned JWT ecu's. Since you guys are running an airflow referenced system, what is the target air/fuel ratio during closed loop operation?

TTZ boys claim JWT runs about 10.25:1AFR. JWT claims 11.25-10.5:1 depending on application. I think the TTZ boys are right. I never had a blink of detonation on the J&S with the JWT, even at 14psi. Its a very safe option as long as you dont run past 100% injector duty cycle. Go with 555's and Z32MAF on a turbo application, dont waste the money on 370's.

 

what about for a S/C application runnin 11psi ??

--JWT ECU....S/C program, rev limiter, 370's, Z32 MAF and NO FMU ??

Its close, find a way to monitor the injector duty cycle if you run the 370's, with 555's it would be no problem at all.
