If you were to choose between these to setup's, money not being an object, which would you choose????
My car is going to be a weekend driver, if that really matters. However, I'd still like it to be somewhat reliable. It has 90,000 miles on it, 5 speed with ACT stage 1 clutch. A compression test showed the front 3 cyl to be 190/185/185 and the rear 3 cyl to be 180/185/190.
Thanks alot for you opinions,
Steve

Of course the whole ICing a SC is still under dedate, the IC would be cooling the air and thus probably more reliable. It has everything you need. You will not have to worry about replacing the plastic pulleys that afaffio kit has I imagine.
It appears that ilumos kit is the best deal and easiest.

man you have a tough choice to make. If you want torque turbo is the way to go. Boost is controlled by a turn of a ****. The turbo can be reliable once you get it tuned and get a turbo timer.
The SCer is awesome for a daily driven car. You have a tough choice to make.

Given the choice between the two SC kits, ilumo's kit definitely is the more complete package.
I think the real choice is between the SC and the turbo. What do you want to do with the car? The SC is probably easier to install and tune, and is more reliable. It also has a lower ceiling in terms of maximum power. If had the money to spend I'd be all over I30Jim's PFI kit and forged internals. While it would probably cost more in the long run and it's still somewhat uncharted territory, you could have a seriously fast car with that setup. 15+ psi...

everyone talks about 15+ psi, but what ever happened to driveability?
you have to have some pretty good tires to be able grip that sort of power in a front wheel drive car.
I know with my untuned s/c kit that only pushes 8 psi breaks loose when you punch it and i have nittos

Well, between the turbo and S/C, I'll probably go with the S/C. I love the feel a turbo gives you, but reliability is a big issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't ground clearance become more of an issue with the turbo??? I know I might sound crazy, but I already cannot pull into some places with my car, yet alone if it had even less ground clearance.
I'm going to research some more yet, but I'd really like to get a few more opinions on it. As of right now, between the two, I'd probably go with ilumos kit.
THANKS ALOT FOR THE HELP,
Steve
