Car stalls when i rev it

99 sel pfi turbo kit running at 5 pounds of boost. Whenever i hit 35oo rpm car stalls/ engine dies. I still have the stock injectors/maf, anyone had/has this problem. Or can someone please tell me how to correct this. this also happens when the car is idling and i rev it to 3500. (the car is a 99 seL)

When exactly does it stall? When you rev and suddenly come off the throttle? Or when your still on the throttle?

Check the ECU for codes (even with no CEL on)

Check the charge piping, make sure you have no leaks. Spray some soap/water on the piping/couplers look for bubbles.

Check vacuum hoses make sure they are on tight, and no cracks in hoses.

Yeah, does it happen when you let off the throttle all of a sudden?

Could be the blow off valve is too tight and not allowing the air to blow off... try loosening it up...

The stalling when coming off gas is 'normal' for that setup - assuming you have the MAF before the turbo. Just get an Apexi S-afc or Greddy e-manage, both have a feature to prevent stalling when coming off the throttle. (dec-air for s-afc, anti-stall for emanage)

I had this problem when my BOV was set too tight... I loosened it up a bit (or was it too lose and I tightened it up...?) and never had the problem again.

I wasn't running an e-manage or SAFC, just tuned the BOV...

You might want to experiment with loosening/tightening the BOV - you'll probably be able to take care of it that way.

You'll still get the occasional car fart until you do get an e-manage though, but at least it won't stall out on you...

It will probably still stall just nearly not as much, because the MAF is still on the non-charge side, but worth a shot. I say just wait till the e-manage is installed.

What u can do is 'ride-down' the gear your in by lightly gettin back on the the throttle in neutral or not coming off the gas so suddenly, try not to let the revs drop so quickly.

could be... guess it depends on alot of different factors... all I can say is that my car NEVER stalled out after the initial adjustment to the BOV...

Now the car farts, those bugged the hell out of me...
