Can you describe the difference in the car? I currently have a 14.3 second car (ok, so its an estimate... Still have the MEVI sitting in the garage...

If I was to throw the S/C in there, and reprogram my JWT ECU for S/C... Would I be driving a low 13 second car? Would I be blown away?

What Im getting at is- is it worth the thousands of bucks or should I be saving up a down payment for, say, a Corvette?

Thanks...

I don't know the numbers on a vette, but when comparing it with a s/c'd maxima I wouldn't think speed would really be the deciding factor....

4 doors vs. 2 doors
FWD vs. RWD
suped up family sedan vs. standard sports car

I imagine they'd both be fast enough to satify you, but it would really about what else you want out of it.

Yea, good point. I am looking for a real kick a$s car, not necessarily a sedan, now that I really think about it. Of course, a corvette means 5+ years of car payments, while a S/C'd max, though FWD, might be able to deliver almost as much fun while still being able to move 5 people when necessary... kind of apples to oranges question I guess...

What kind of 1/4 could I expect, any guesses?

the Z06 is the best performance/priced car out there... those are not my words... many auto mags have put this car up against just about everything and they always come back with this verdict.

With that said, I guess it is totally up to you tastes and ability to fork over the dough. Either way, you'll need some cash in hand though.

I can tell you that I SC'ed my max because there is no one else out here doing it. Yes, it has 4 doors... I can fit 4 women and myself comfortably And I love driving a 4-wheeled labratory.

It is a different car once it's SC'ed. I get looks from a lot of people wondering what the hell I have. It's nice hearing tires roar from 40-60 on the on-ramps too. Low 13's are entirely possible with this setup. Someone running 10psi and some other bolt-ons hit high 12's (Requin or someone with a name like that... I think)

I'm going to quit rambling now
Good luck.

i would rather have a vette than my supercharged max, not even considering speed...

Looks
style
handle
looks (people will look at a vette way before they look at a hooked up maxima supercharged or not)

replace vette with G35c and I'd say "vette". Take care of your car payments faster that way too. 2005 models now come with 295hp.

Don't you road race too?

Yea, as much as I can. Nice idea about the G35c. Sweeeeet car. And I can only imagine throwing a Supercharger on THAT! Is it RWD, by the way?

Ride in style in the vette,( its not all that cuz I ride with my friend who owns a convertible in the weekend)
the max is a great sleeper out of all of them( regular cars). the impression u leave when a riced out honda revs on u cuz he sees u have rims and thinks he can smoke u, but not knowing that u have a blower...they always turn away when they can't catch up to u....priceless.
having a low 14 sec is cool enough. i say with the chunk of change to buy a blower..put it down for a g35...my 0.50 cent

G35 is RWD, and dead nasty with a SC or TT

A vette is going to be a lot more fun to drive than a supercharged Max. I had two superchargers on my Max, the first one being a vortech @10psi. It was fast, no doubt, but the power band of a vette is going to be a lot richer with a lot more power under the curve. It's going to feel a lot faster, and it will be faster.

G35c's are amazing cars, my mom has one. A 6spd coupe with a screw-type supercharger would be a MONSTER. I would love to own one of those.

SC $3600 (used for $2500) vs. Vette $45000
SC will give you better bang for the buck!

Like everyone else is saying its all in what you want. yea more peole look at a vette, but look at how many vettes their are. Anyone with enough money can have one. A supercharged max or a s/c or tt G35 is much more rare. Set your self apart from the rest of the crowd. Also are you talkin about a Z06, C5, or C4. Cause if its not the Z06 definitly go with the maxima or G35!

Also unless you are over 30 years old, insurance is gonna rape you in the **** for the tune of thousands of dollars per year.

Insurance will rip you a new one. I highly agree with that one. Z06s put down all that tq/HP instantly. Its a two door monster with lots of aftermarket support and many items to make it even faster without dropping a blower in it. Just prepare yourself to be a regular at the gas pump. We have a young guy who has a 2003 Z06 Ann Ed. here at work. He says he wont race unless theres money involved. Gas and Insurance puts a hurting on that walletn:. Never the less its still a nice Z06. If you cant afford it just turbo your maxima.

yes turbo if you're considering a s/c. With reputable, and hopefully reliable, kits available (i'm thinking pfi here) just $1000 more than a s/c kit, why not just go with the turbo? You're spending in the neighborhood of $4k new in either case.

or if the fi is not going to be used on road courses, perhaps just nitrous for the strip? cheap, safe with the j&s unit, and transferrable to your g35c/vette.

btw, do road courses generally allow the use of nitrous? I have a road course opening up locally and will be getting the nx kit shortly for the dragstrip.
