Running Cartech+AEM FPR

I just got off the phone with Jeff at maximum tuning to get a price to put in my puel pump, AEM FPR, and my Cartech and he said I dont need the FMU + the AEM at the same time

Jeff stated that the AEM FPR does the job of the FMU and I WONT need both of them. ??

From what I learned here, I will need the FMU to up boost Fuel pressure but from what Jeff stated, the AEM does that just like the FMU does...

Now Im confused

Jeff must think that the Cartech is like the Vortech super fmu, which allows for base fuel pressure adjustment. The Cartech unit does not, so you do need both the Cartech and an adjustable fpr.

no he said the opposite of what your sayin.

He said I wont need the Cartech because the FPR does the job of the Cartech ?? that makes no sense to me

An adjustable fpr only sets the base fuel pressure, and then increases fuel pressure at a 1:1 rate based on manifold pressure. You can't use it to provide a greater than 1:1 fuel pressure rise rate, which is what boost-referenced fmu's do.

Maybe Jeff is talking about your specific fuel management configuration. For instance, if you have a JWT ecu that relies on a 1:1 rise rate, then he is correct in saying you don't need the Cartech fmu.
