Oil Cooler ??

S/C almost in and I was thinking an Oil Cooler may be good...

Anyone runnin an Oil Cooler and what one ??
Would it plug right up with no modification ??

just go to the jusnk yard and find some oil coolers, u will also find alot of tranny coolers,
as for the oil filter adapter u can buy seperaty and the hoses to.

Im not gonna go to a junkyard and get an oil cooler and the Stillen one is mad loot...

anyone know of any different ones..?? Links help

is it true that you can just buy a tranny cooler and use it as an oil cooler???? i thought i heard someone here on the org doin this. brand new tranny coolers at pepboys are like 69 bux.

Go to www.summitracing.com & check out some of the oil coolers they have. They have some really nice ones on there. They even sell coolers with there own seperate fan to increase the cooling ability.

The general design is the same, but most tranny coolers use unreinforced hoses with hose clamps since they run at much lower pressures than engine oil pressure can get up to. It's much better from a safety standpoint to have the AN fittings that all good quality engine oil coolers come with. That way you can use steel braid reinforced hose.

if you use rubber hosses make sure you leave enough slack for when the engine moves

i had a friend who had a honda with a oil cooler on with rubber hoses and didnt leave enogh slack and one of the hoses got riped off and his motor died almost imediatly
