Time for raxles?

Do any other supercharged guys have trouble with cv joints. I have gone through 2 in the past month or 2 and i don't even drive my car hard. Also are the raxles really that much stronger than the stock ones

Thanks
Chris

The raxles aren't much different from OEM except that he uses better grease in them.

However, as for custoemr service, Marty at Raxles is the best I've come across. He also will honor the warranty on his axles pretty much no matter what.

I lost 4 axles in 3 months on Sprint Springs.....

I've had raxles since doing the tranny conversion before I installed the SC. I've never had axle problems, but my car is not the most powerful around.

From what I understand, the main difference with Raxles is that they use brand new joints. All the other places (autozone, your local shop, etc...) use axles with remanufactured joints. And they do use AMSoil synthetic grease and precision fit (not one size fits all) boots.

Trust me neither is mine, does suspension have anything do with axel wear. I am lowered a good 3 inches maybe more. I would think that by being lower it would put more strain on the axel being in a akward position.(Just a thought)

When I was on Sprints and dropped pretty low I lost 3 axles in 3 months...and another 3 months after that.

I sent an axle to marty at raxles and he took it apart and took pics for me showing the wear points.

He said it was definately caused by me being too low and the angle of the outer axle to the joint.

So yeah - being too low can cause that.

we built a 580 hp 1.8t gti in queens in a shop whose name i cannot disclose. the car was fully sponsored by companies such as turbonetics, atp, eip, etc. the shop strictly does turbo and supercharger performance upgrades and tunings for vw audi and porsche. the gti went through 9 sets of marty's 800whp axles. bolts would back out left and right, the cv's went bad 6 times, once sending the axle assembly right into and through the tranny case. marty has been absolutely terrible about shipping new axles. repeatedly. for the price and supposed strength of these axles, they should NOT be doing what they are doing. BREAKING. there is simply no other way of saying it. terrible. the axles themselves are great, but the cv's are terrible. the bolt setup doesn't work, and its not like you can put locktight on the bolts, cause the grease will mix in w\the cv grease. anywho, i personally drive a 99 max se limited and have no idea about how his axles work for you guys and what kind of power you're running, but if you do run into cv problems and bolts backing off, don't say you didn't know.

Interesting - this is the first bad review I've heard about Marty - ever.

I'm at 349whp and haven't had 1 problem with he axles in 2 years since I fixed my suspension.

And I wheelhop on launch like a SOB.

wow, he really hates marty.

I have sprints and both my boots are ripped with grease pouring out but no nasty sounds yet. I plan to replace soon.
