I'm not aware of any before and after dynos where the only difference was the PF TB.

I measured a 4% increase in air flow (as indicated by SAFC) after installing the PF TB, boosting to about 11 psi.

I will have one with in a month...I am waiting to have my manifold polished before I put it on with the PF TB...I'll post after I go

stock 60 mm, PF 70mm

--when I dyno, I will not change anything on the first run so the only thing that will be changed is the Manifold (still US just bored out)/ TB...so I will have US manifold results soon

Stephen: That 4% is a gain in the max airflow peak?
Yes. I don't know at what rpm the gains start appearing.

where I go to dyno, they keep all of my runs on file...I will have them isolate the two runs on one graph so it will be easy to see where there are gains/losses.

I would probably agree and that is why I sold mine. But who know for sure, ya know.

andy, if we can get the scantool to work, I guess monitoring the MAF voltage would help

TBs are all well and good, but has anyone ever flow tested the intake manifold itself? I think it would be more interesting to flow test that.

Just a quick question regarding the diameter of the stock maxima or Z32 MAF. I'm wondering what the actual diameters are. For the past week or so I've been building a 5.0 Mustang GT for my brother in law (don't ask, I'm not big on Fords either) & he got the thing for free. So he wants me to hook him up with a blown 5.0. So I'll let him Ice Ice baby it as much as he wants as long as I don't have to ride in it with him. Anyway, after doing some research I noticed that pretty much the majority of the FI Mustang guy's are running a larger 75mm Granitelli MAF in combination with a 70 or 73mm TB. I'm assuming this must be the norm when dealing with FI since you don't want the MAF to become an air flow restriction in the intake.

So I guess what I'm getting at is "If the stock maxima or Z32 MAF is smaller then the 70mm Pathfinder TB are there really any beneifits at all"? Also I'm assuming the stock manifold or MEVI needs to be opened up the accomidate the larger 70mm diameter for this mod to even have any real effect? I read above someone reported a 4% gain in air flow so obviously it's been proven to benificial on FI vehicles. But on a N/A car I'm wondering if it would hurt performance down low, especially on automatic equipt cars?

PF gains from air or spacing?

So far the only conclusive evidence I've seen is Stephen's post about +4% airflow with the 70mm. I searched around but couldn't find any dyno's before and after yet.

I'm also curious if our gains are the result of the larger diameter of the TB or possibly from the spacing of the adapter plate. The Honda folks are saying +3hp/tq just from using SPE/Poweraid type spacers and not playing with the TB size.

Not sure if anybody on here has tried a PF spacer/adapter by itself at all yet. Maybe it affects the resonance tuning into the runners?

but doesn't the spacer you need to make act as the spacer plate?

He's wondering if the gains are from the spacer itself or from the TB.
