Safe pulley size?

Right now I have a 3.48 pulley on my SC, and have never had problem, but what is the smallest size I could go with w/o having to beef up my engine? Also, do you think it is worth getting an FMU for the small change in size from the stock pulley?

Your not running an FMU with your current setup ??

I think 3.33 is really safe, 3.25 is alittle more of a risk, 3.125 is alittle more, and the 2.87 is the most. But risk on the engine is in the eye of the beholder cause many people talk of the engine holding up to 600hp. the tranny on the other hand is the weak link

It's all about fuel and timing management. You add the proper amount of fuel and amount of timing retardation and any pulley can be safe.

I'm running a 2.87" using a JWT Program and a Cartech to handle fuel pressure up top where the A32 MAF Sensor maxes out.

1 step colder plugs.

No detonation, no high EGT's, nothing...car runs perfect.
