they're fuel management units that allow you to adjust the base fuel pressure and the rate the fuel pressure is increased per psi of boost added over the rpm range.

A cartech FMU is an Adjustable Rising Rate Fuel Presure Regulator.
http://www.bellengineering.net/Pages...struction.html

An AEM FPR only adjusts fuel pressure at idle, brings it down from 40 to 34 with the Wablro pump. An aftermarket fuel pressure regulator only has a 1:1 rise rise compaired to a 4:1 or a 9:1 on the cartech (whatever it set at)

You already have a s/c so you should have some sort of fuel managment unit of some type...

JWT can reprogram a 95/96 ECU to work with a 99 now I believe. The best way to do it is to get 370cc injectors or maybe 550s depending on wanted power and future mods, etc.

If you do not get new injectors, which is fine for most people, then you will need an FMU such as cartech. You will probably need a new fuel pump too.

sorry if this is ot, but im curious as to why 99's would be any different ecu wise than 95/96's? i was under the assuption 95-96 maximas were mechanically the same...

I assume you meant 95-99 are mechanically the same. For the most part they are very similar, but the ECUs are different.
