Question about FP for SC Guys

Hey Guys,

I will be running 9lbs of boost and I have read in a couple of threads that it's not necessary to go with a Cartech FMU or the Walbro 255 and the stillen inline FP would be fine. The $89 for the FP isnt a big deal, its just whether or not it's even necessary... And with the cartech, i had one in my hands and wasnt quite sure how i would tune with it. Is the Vortech S-FMU a better bet considering I can adjust base fuelpressure since the walbro is going to spike it 3-4lbs? Just basically looking for your input guys.

As always thanks for reading this!
Chris

I have the vortech/stillen inline fuel pump right now sitting in a box with the rest of my S/C kit waiting to be installed (no money)....anyway, I was debating the same thing as to whether or not I should use the inline or use the walbro...would I need a adjustable FPR either way?

I've been using the 3.12" pulley (V2 kit) with just the Walbro (no inline)... The reason is i hated the surge the inline pump made when it came on under boost (Hobbs switch) and I refused to tolerate the noise of hooking it up fulltime (no Hobbs). I am using the SARD fpr to reduce the higher FP with the HP Walbro. You will still need to remove the OEM fpr and get an off rail fitting if you get the Super FMU so think this out.

Never did a dyno with AFR check but my EGT's haven't gone beyond 830 Celcius.

I think i was right with my first choice, to go with the Cartech. The SFMU seems like a good idea, but I dont think that 40PSI is too much to run at idle and it saves me buing that 25dollar fitting to adapt it to fuel rail and buying the SARD...
