6500+rpm on stock ecu, timing?
6500+rpm on stock ecu, timing?
If I can get around the fuel cut revlimiter, is there anything else to watch for (timing?? at 6500+?)
If I could find someone with an OBD watcher, I could tell.. I'm guessing the ecu goes into excessive retard, which maybe I could help by advancing timing in emanage?

EDIT: heres a good example of one of my close to stock NA maps...you can see how "hot" it is off the line and how upper RPM at higher vacuum "cools" down significantly, but is still mildly advanced

My friend has a KA24de s13 with a custom t3/t4 set up. He has friends that own a dyno/tuning shop that specialize in DSM's. They know their DSM's inside and out. They basically went thru the DSM ecu pin-out and decided what they needed and tore about the wiring harness to get rid of the stuff they didn't need. They used a combination of DSM and KA sensors. Amazingly enough, many of the dsm sensors fit on the KA. The real trick was in the distributor, but they won't tell us what they did.
The were able to keep all the gauges from the KA. The only thing they couldn't do was the ignition, so he now has an s2000 start button.
he ran a low 13@110 last night. he is just limited by his stock DSM injectors. Oh, and he did not need ANY tuning on the DSM ecu.
pretty cool idea if you ask me!

If you got around the fuel cut, what would you do about hte fuel maps? I dout there is any fuel maps after 6550 stored in the ECU. So you would have to control that. And same for hte ignition timing. That is why JWT uses a daughter board with extended fuel and ignition maps.
I am not 100% sure on that, but I think I am right.
