Custom supercharger?

Has anyone every try incorporating a custom supercharger setup from a different car instead of using the v2 kits? Like a g60 supercharger or something?

I am assuming you want to use something other than a Vortech/stillen. Ok well the piping has to be custom. You are probably going for a roots type since you already have a centrifical kit that has been proven to show power. If you do this make sure you relocate the Throttle body in front of the super charger. This post shows what will happen if you do not.
.
A custom turbo kit would cost about as much and give you more overall power but this would be more original and you would have more low end torque which although with our FWD and knowing the traction problems those with turbos and V1 or V2s have I would wonder what kind of traction you would get. You would be the 2nd person to attempt this and possibly the first to get it to work correctly.

good luck and research this a lot since you will be one of the first to do this and this is a big investment.

No tubro....thats just a mess waiting to happen, just installed one on a friends car, so f'that! I was looking at the g60 supercharger because it doesnt look too big and I might have enough space to just make a custom bracket and put right where the belts are...I let you guys know, I just hate having to spend $$ on the stillen/vortech name

Oh, you didn't say you wanted details!

But you're right, except that actually it's more like "my mechanic did it".

If you think a custom turbo is going to be harder than a custom SC....

I had less issues fabricating a turbo setup for my car than I did installing the Stillen SC. No belt alignment issues, no slipping belts, etc. With the turbo it was just measure, fit and weld. And the only guy to try a custom SC setup on his Maxima had a lot of issues.

I don't know man, for some reason I would rather be dealing with belts and perfect alignment rather than exhaust work, plus 3x the piping....but I might just buy the vortech kits on ebay that go for like 1000 but are made for a different car, so ill just resell what i dont need. BTW, do vortech superchargers use the engines oil or does it have a separate supply?

Engine oil.

And if you're getting a Vortech, you might as well buy a used Stillen kit. You're never going to get the bracket made right for cheaper than it would cost to just buy a used kit.

Well I was planning on making the bracket myself (hopefully) and same with the plumbing and such. I know how to weld so thats not going to be a problem and I am a soon-to-be-engineer so I figure I might be able to tackle it....any specific one I should look for v1, v2.....?
