Ordering an SSQV..few ??

What flange do I buy ??

Im assuming in need the Universal one http://www.hopupracing.com/hksssblva.html and I found it for $189

The flanges are as follows...
60mm Aluminum

65mm Steel
I have a coating on my pipes if that matters..

Greddy's are prone to leaking. I am very satisfied with my TIAL.

Unless you have aluminum pipes, you'll want the steel flange.

Do you think the tial would be too much for a s/c set-up at 13psi? I think down the road when i get a 3in crossover pipe i might switch to one.

Had an SSQV on my Evo for about 100 miles before I scrapped it. Caused compressor surge everytime it opened and HKS strongly recommends that you do not touch the adjustment screw on it due to diphragm possibly ripping (HKS sent out a TSB on it). Now I am using the GReddy Type-S with a home depot spring in place of the 2 springs that it comes with. After boost testing, it holds 25 psi easily without leaking and causes no compressor surge (adjustment screw still in stock position). If you want, I'll get ya the part number for the spring I used and u can try that.

I have the SSQV with my also welded to my v2 setup. It works great, maybe I have compressor surge and don't even know.

When i shift from first to second @ about 2.5k-3K the sound is rather deep and strange so all this talk has me wondering.

If I get on it hard I know its coming out the BOV.

You'll hear a distinct fluttering sound from the BOV if it's surging. I heard that surging is a problem with the HKS valve on smaller engines like my Evo, but on bigger engines it works fine.

it's pretty much in between the small and large spring it comes with, there's a pic of the box in this thread: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthr...s+intake+stock
