16.5psi data loged!

I finally fixed the crush bend in the down pipe with a mandrel bent 3" bend and replaced the 2.5" flex with a 3" flex section, full 3" turbo back exhaust now! I changed to NGK Iridum Extreme plugs and she shows ni sighs of misfiring at all. I also cleaned the ground points by the intake manifold where the coil packs ground too. She pulls hard! I still have a 5psi WG spring in their, I think I need to switch to a 12 psi spring or somthing becuase the EBC flutters at ~9.7psi on its way up to 16.5. Either way 16psi from 5600 up is awesone. I have the MAF voltage in/out and duty cycle logged I just need to trabs scribe it to excel. Im goin to the strip Friday night on street tires to see how she does.

what gear did you pull in? it only looks like it took 7 seconds to go from the onset of boost at around 3400rpm to the rev-limiter...not to mention the 16+ lbs of boost from 5600rpm on is nice...if that's in fourth, that's damn impressive man. AFR looks real good too, you going to try and tweak it up more towards 12 in the mid to high rpm range??

"full boost" is a relative term, This is only an issue in 1st gear. with the 7200rpm limit it lands higher in the RPM range when I shift.

Trust me with or with out slicks you'll be seeing taillights Friday night

Damn Matt, before I got rid of the Max I did a 15psi pull on the dyno and wanted to go to 17psi but the dyno guy wouldnt let me blow it on the dyno in fear that the fluids would spill over his dyno wheel. He said if it was rear wheel drive he wouldve let me.

Thats good to know you are pushing it that far. I wanted to see how far I could push it on a stock block and everything stock.

Ok, so now VQ's are runnin 16psi, and have the ability to run some more with factory internals, just think whata built motor could do. Still, just to bad it is fwd.

just goes to show how far proper tuning and setup can take you. I don't think a built vq30 is a extreme necessity. I have a vq30de that i'm tearing apart right now and its pretty beefy stock.

mardi, whats your tranny setup? stock tranny with fidenza/brand-stage x clutch?

No, he killed his stock trans, so he deburred the gears and cryo treated them. Not sure what else he did besides HEAVY shockproof gear lube.

I know for sure that mardi's car is fast and there are other extremely fast cars out there, but there is a reason that all of the fastest drag cars are rear wheel drive. I think a supra with DR's and a decent driver can get like 1.8-1.9 60'. Isn't that what mardi gets with slicks?

Since its a JWT ECU the timing is unknown yet. I have a OBDII data logger but have not yet logged the timing, im sure its overkill. I am tweaking the AFR abit with the e-manage. the J&S is quite as a mouse so far. I'm seeing 4.9x volts from the z32 MAF so I'm close to its end. Duty cycles have been in the low 60s at 16psi, so plenty of injector left from the 740's. The only thing that bothers me is the EGTs are consistant 900c at high boost, I think its a sign of the ignition timing JWT is pulling.

93 Oct gas

Street tires because Im lazy, and I just want to see how she does on street tires.

Trans gears are also shotpeened.

Currently pulling low 1.7s on slicks.

I think 16.5 is good enough on the stocker, time to start the build up of the 3.5L. Heads are almost, just neet to grind the valves in and assemble. Then get the block bored, clena nad assemble. then push her more.

amazing, simply amazing. It feels good to own a 4th gen when u see people like u setting new boundaries for maxima's. I think this will put a rest to anyone trying to build the VQ30. Tuning really does go a long way.

wow I am really surprised how clean that a/f ratio is. Wow I would be scared to push it that far. The full boost at 5900 rpm doesn't really matter because its relative. Must haul booty on the freeway.

Trap speeds are a good indication too.

But I will gladly accept donations to pay for a few pulls. Paypal is under matchoup@hotmail.com I think its $65 for 3 pulls.
