MAF location question

Example: The PFI kit --- the MAF is located where the red arrow starts, by the drivers side firewall. If it was relocated to where the arrow ends....would that be possible to work or would there be too much for it to handle?

I know it'll depend on how much boost your running - but is it a bad idea?

Basically, will the car function the SAME if the MAF is located in those 2 different locations?

There are numerous threads about this already. Exactly WHY would you want to change it? If you only want it to "run the same" (nice tech reason btw), why change it??

Depending on WHERE a turbo is be located, will determine where the MAF has to be

*hint*

You don't have to PM me for an explaination. I already know what it means to run the MAF in each location. Have no idea why you would want to. Or why you feel the need to change everything around. But then again, it's a big secret right?

So I guess that is a yes it would work. I have seen alot of maf there kinda like the v1 kit for the 4th gen.
Then you could put the bov over by the chain drive case...

It's just a big vacuum source. One line from the intake manifold. Then all the things that need a vacuum/boost signal are routed there

It's just a vacuum block/source. I got sick of all the stupid little plastic tees I was running before with the SC. This block is tapped off of the brake booster line. I actually picked up about 4psig of vacuum. When you run too many plastic tees, there is too much chance of leaking. Wastegate, BOV, FMU, boost gauge, FPR are all run off of that. 1 is just blocked off.

get the parts from McMastercar.com...I was running the same thing on my Integra(off the BB hose), makes life so much easier...

6 outlet mani # is: 5469 K151
plugs part# is: 50785 K21
inlet/outlet barbs # are: 44555 K131

total is like $26...the GE and other "name brand" vac boxes are more pricier for the same function.

nowadays when I do a car, I couldn't see ANY other way to run vac llines.

Looks like the barbs are for 1/4" ID hose so it should fit 5/16" hose fine.

According to the website, the inlets are 1/4" pipe thread (NPT) for that manifold so wouldn't you need two 1/4" NPT for the inlets (44555 K132). Then, six 1/8" NPT or six 1/8" NPT plugs for the outlets?

corey: you should have bought mine after I sold it buy one from that place and we'll put it together

slimer: you can mount it anywhere...it has screw holes. I'm ghetto, I use zip ties since yalls BB line is on the firwall, drill it into there

tony: I bought 3 plugs and 6 barbed fittings since I knew I'd at least have 3 vac accessories(BOV, gauge, EBC) off the break and never less than that.

actually, I was asking the inlets are not 1/8" NPT but 1/4" NPT right?
