Very, very nice!
Did you use a mounting kit or did you fabricate eveything yourself?
What manifold is that?

make sure you update us with numbers as soon as finish up your tuning.

the RB is awesome and everything but really... the VG30DETT is even better. its an absolute torque monster.

I have an engine to even top the VG though... Nissan's VH45DE. I can't wait to boost this thing and see what it will handle as well as the numbers it will put out. Oh yeah... I'm putting it in a Datsun 280Z

I kinda like the RB26DETT motor over the VG30DETT if you want to go all out crazy

that thing is sweet!

My S14 is still moving along with the KA24DE... not sure what to put in it next

thats an rb25 correct...rb26 needs custom driveshaft, single turbo upgrade, rb25 rearend and rb25 tranny to work in a 240sx. ive owned 3 one with sr, one with rb20...sick cars. loved it now its just too much with drift this and drift that. i jumped off that bandwagon b4 it started

Yeah, I only saw the first one. It was a lame joke anyway.

Does it do 160?

actually, all out crazy would be the VG30DETT. the VG holds all of the records that Nissan engines hold. top speed, quarter mile, power output, etc.

the RB26 can still make some insane power and will make that car one fast mother f-er.

What is the higest hp VG? The higest power one in the USA is tuned by SGP and make slike 850+ whp. There are 1200+ hp RB's.

I'm sure a VQ30DET would do wonders in that engine bay. It is lighter than RB or VG, but if done right has the potential for more power.

If I had my choice of engines, this one would NOT be it. However nice, it's way too much of a pain to work on. Plus is a VERY wide engine. There's no way I'd purposely put an TT engine that required the removal of the engine to swap turbos.

Although we are just BSing at this point (while this person already has the RB installed), the VQDET would be very interesting alternative. Much lighter and compact I believe.

I think that is a very valid question. It'd be rediculously unsafe in that car. It has stock rims which means not very wide rubber. Also, it appears that the suspension is stock. I have little doubt that the car would do 160. Let me rephrase the question. Would you survive a trip to 160?

something like 2,000 hp i believe. how much power does it take to run a car into the low 7's and touching high 6's in the quarter?

I have never heard of that before, I would definitely like to see, VGs dont do so well above 600hp, I mean above that most people would say the RB or the 2JZ is better

If there is a 5spd/6spd transmission with the same starter location as the VQ and available for a good price, a VQ would be awesome in a 240

I have a 240 itching for a VQ so I'm interested

that car got wrecked due to the tie rod breaking while making a practice run so now he's building a VG powered 350Z i believe. he was aiming for high 6's with that 300ZX... he'll most likely hit that with the new stuff.

the 350Z 6-speed has been having some issues. i'd try the TTZ 5-speed or maybe the RB25 5-speed. they both seem to be quite strong.

VG tranny has shift linkage, the KA/RB trannies have shifter in the tranny, I dont know how hard it would be to work with the VG **** linkage

maybe RB or 6spd VQ35
