Groupbuy for Zeitronix Wideband

Just to let all your know there is a group buy on My350z.com for the Zeitronix Wideband. it's a great unit that shows boost, EGT, AFR, and Lambda. It also has real time datalogging. Just wanted to share with my fellow .org guys.

*Bump*

Also I forgot to mention that the Unit is going to have a Custom Warm up Screen. Something Like this:http://www.zeitronix.com/gb/Porsche_full.mpg

So don't miss this GD if you don't have A Wideband yet.

Actually, if you have an existing boost sensor you can use that for data logging. The ZT-2 uses a 5v 3.5 bar boost sensor IIRC. If you have the same type boost sensor you can just splice in your existing oneand it will read and data log off of that. Even if you boost sensor is not exactly the same it will still read it and log it but the boost value will not be exactly right, but the logging of when boost comes on and such will still be the same.

The ZT-2 just has two wires comming off it for the boost sensor, so you just tap off you existing boost gauge and connect to those two wires comming off the ZT-2

I'm in on it. I was going to try to start one here, but the guy from Zeitronix more or less told me to just send people to the G35 GB. Plus I can't start group buys anyway.

oh oh oh, there's my name! Neal, the deal is open till my b-day (2/15) so you still have a couple of weeks.

lambda is the change in a/f ratio, i think.

btw guys, i talked with one of my friends and we are going to work on a mount that would go on the steering column.

it would be made of fiberglass and adapted to the stock cover.

i just think that it would look good in front of the dash, or maybe next to where my afc is at.

Neal, did you every see where mine was mounted?

That is one thing that I did not like. Unless they changed it in the last few months, The User option (boost), EGT, and AF are all displayed no matter what. I can't remeber which it is, but if one of the sensors is not hooked up it either reads zero or some crazy meaningless number.

They way they have their data logging set up is very cool and user friendly.

hmmm I might have to sit this one out if thats the case. I might opt for the dynojet wideband of the aem eugo.

If cost is not really a concern, I'd seriously look at the PLX-M500:
http://www.plxdevices.com/M-Series_l...roductinfo.htm

It has the optional gauge you and I like Blu:

i dont see any reason why you could not use that gauge with the Zeitronix Wideband

the gauge uses a 0-5v wideband signal to operate which the Zeitronix Wideband
has so i would think it would work fime and that gauge is only 130$

this shows the specs on the zt2

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

this shows the specs on the plx gauge

It's not just because of the gauge, however the Zeitronix output is non-linear so it won't be as accurate. Whether, that makes a real difference or not, I don't know.

the plx devices units are pretty affordable imo. the m-300 is pretty nice (might be m-350, can't remember). the only downside is to get datalogging capability it costs right over 500 dollars for the m-500. if you have the Zemulator setup then it wouldn't even matter. you could get the m-300 and use the Zem to datalog it all making the total cost quite a bit less.

Yeah, however supposedly that only works with their PLX systems, which I'd assume is related to the above posted graphs linear output.

Someone could easily correct that, I'd bet.

here's their narrowband output. they say that it should be compatible with just about any 1, 2, 3, or 4 wire narrowband setup. i would think being compatible with those that you could hook it up to any regular narrowband afr gauge.

That's what the PLX outputs on narrowband, you need to know what the Zeitronix output looks like.

You'd lose resolution with the 0-1V narrowband vs. the 0-5V wideband. Probably not the best way to display and tune, but good enough for replacing a primary 02.

That's doesn't mean it will work with the PLX NB->WB convertor, they don't show what they output for NB.
