Suggestions: Pulley Size, Etc.

Alright, here's what I have:
V2
z32 maf (in the mail)
5 out of 6 370cc injectors (if someone has an extra, please let me know)
Turbo_XS Type H (rated to 25psi)
Air to water aftercooler
USIM
4th gen TB
Walbro Fuel FP
AEM Adjustable FPR
Vortech FMU with 8:1 disk (but i have all of the other disks and an extra diaphragm)
2.5" header back SS exhaust
SAFC-II
Zietronix Wideband (once the group deal is done)

The charge piping and the aftercooler are getting powdercoated and i'm getting the post on the bracket that rubs the belt removed.

What should it be cut with?

What pulley should i go down to without maxing out MF voltage? (I know that ian was having trouble with this, but he has the mevi)

What FMU disk should I use? (I know bags is using z32 injectors and maf with the 4:1 disk)

Is there anything else that I am overlooking?

You're not going to max out the Z32 maf with a supercharger. They're good to 420-450 hp at the wheels (about 520 bhp). Ian maxed out his A32 maf.

The 8:1 disk is way too much. Mardigrasmax was using a 3:1 with 370 cc/min injectors, IIRC.

I had detonation problems running the 370 cc/min injectors, 3" pulley, Z32 maf and oem ecu, even after fattening up the afr with the SAFC. I believe the timing provided by the oem ecu is advanced too far for boosting over 10 psi. Using the SAFC only exacerbated the problem.

what rising rate of pressure did you go with for the fmu? I thought that you were using a 1:1 and then fine tuning with the safc.

Would the 3:1 or 4:1 possibly solve the detonation?

Remember, it is also cooler here than in Austin. I know, I grew up there.

*Edit*
Does Subracting or adding retard or advance? Need a little clarification. Isn't it better to subtract fuel than to add?

What base psi should i be looking for with the walbro, 370's and z32 maf?

Do you feel that the Z32 MAF was the cause of your detonation? The reason I ask is because I am running 11psi but I am on the A32 MAF with no detonation. I am at @ 25psi base fuel pressure, 370s, 4:1 fmu disc, and A32 ecu, My SAFC-II is maxed out at -50% and I am still running super rich....I am thinking about going to a Z32 MAF but do not want to if it will cause detonation.

My thought is that the combination of the 370 cc/min injectors, Z32 maf and the oem ecu resulted in some leanness and detonation at high rpm. I did not have the fmu in the system at the time. When I corrected with the SAFC, it resulted in a lower afr but greater ignition timing advance, and detonation increased. Correcting with the fmu probably (maybe?) would have resulted in lower afr but without the unintended advance in timing.

does that mean when you added fuel, it advanced more?

so if i used an fmu that had either 3 or 4:1 disk that created around a 10:1 afr, I could subtract fuel (and inadvertently retard timing) to get my desired afr of 11:1?

thanks Stephen

how long does it take to wait for the 3" pulley to be made by asp? or should i just go with the 2.87"

I can't remember exactly, a couple of weeks I think.

Iansw went straight to the 2.87" pulley, but I like to take baby steps. Maybe I'm overly cautious.

being cautious is not a bad thing.

once i get the wideband i want to tune it with the afc in baby steps too

500 rpm at a time.
