16lbs of boost and loving it
Well today I was taking a friends father for a drive in the car today and the by mistake I have the duty cycle turned too far up on the boost controller. So the car boosted to 1.17 bar. About 16lbs of boost!!!! MAN THAT **** IS GREAT
the funny thing is the afr stayed perfect and I felt no detonation. The car was smooth as shiet! however now I still want to retard timing to stay on the safe side and get a bigger ar for my exhaust housing. So, right now I'd dancin the jig!!!

Corey have you dynoed, raced any other cars or planning on taking the car to the track?
If you are going to the track anytime soon?
What track would you go to?
May be taking a trip to PrinceFredrick MD, as soon as I get back.

As stated above ... It's realy not the boost that will kill the headgasket or engine it's the detonation known or unknown that ends up hurting somthing. Hey.. If you push out a head gasket then you'll be able to find out why and prevent it again like I did.
Uneven airflow to the cyls. will cause more to fill than others and cause lean cyls. and rich cyls. as I found out. I was at 12lbs on pump gas but had uneven airflow thus filling the rear three cyls with more than the front.
It should be good now.
Awsome job for tuneing it to 16lbs... keeeep going!

Yeah me and Addae will be retarding the timing today. I really want to get the car up to 20lbs for March 6th , but I dunno. The motor is partly built, now I am wishing I went with forged rods. but now I guess I will find where the breaking point is. The car is now rich enough that I believe Detonation is not a factor but we will retard for saftey. Also, As far as the even or uneven air, I have an extrude honed intake manifold so the airflow is pretty even.

It's not so much the surfaces of the intake that dictate where the air will flow it's got more to do with the actual design. Boost can do strange things and will find the easiest place to go first. The next time you've got your plenum off grab a leaf blower and clamp it down to the throttlebody area and feel the amount of air going to each of the ports.. if it's even.. it's prity close to being ok... if not you'll find out where it needs work to make it more even...

Did you shot-peen the rods or cryo treat them?
