Alrighty then,

The pipe going to the inlet of my compressor housing has a nipple and a hole. I think the nipple is for the smaller of the two hoses that normally connects to a frankencar style mid-pipe. Next to that nipple is a hole, I am confused on what the hole could be for.

Here is the pic of the section of pipe I am refering to

Here is a pic of the intercooler piping (my piping). The section of pipe I am refering to is the amost 180 degree bend going into the compressor from the CAI

As for the nipple, what is the function of that smaller hose that connects to the mid-pipe? If I knew that then it would make more sense as to why the nipple was relocated there. The difference being that if it were conncected to the stock location it would be tapping into charged air. The new location is before the turbo so it is tapping into non-charged intake air.

I am guessing the hole is for a sensor that was used on the previous set-up. But again, it would be tapping into non-charged air and I can't think of what would read non-charged air. Could it be for the intake temp sensor????

Guess I need to get it welded closed unless someone can tell me what it is for

By the size and location of it, it looks like a "push in" style intake temp sensor hole. I believe most 97 and up A32 platforms used it.......don't quote me on the year though.

that nipple is for the evap sensor. it is what my mil was for months. on mine, if it saw boost, i would get a check engine light. im going to have to put a one way valve on it soon.
