Ian, How much did that setup cost you? Is that a 2 stage unit?

The $339.00 setup was on sale for $299 with 10% off extra this weekend.
So for me it was $269.00

Total cost for compressor, Ratchet, Impact wrench and air hammer....33gal tank, 6hp, etc, etc.

Air Compressors?

I have a decent A/C but a 110v just cant cut it for big stuff. My opinion I know when I buy one (use dads now) it'll be 220v.

Uh - what is your definition of "works"?

I used it all day on Sunday and had 0 problems.

Used it to check tire pressure and adjust, rotate my tires, spray dirt out of my garage floor, and used a pressure washer attachment to get some dirt off my sidewalk...as well as blow the pistons out of the 300zx BBK I'm rebuilding.

The compressor is what I would call "moderately" loud. And it starts up after about 5 mins of constant use (like on the pressure washer attachment)....when the tank gets down to about 110 PSI.

Takes about 2 mins to refill to 150PSI from there.

Ian congrates on the compressor. i have the same one i got a couple months ago. it cam in very handy when i had to replace my throw out bearing. one thing though i found on mine was that the thing was weak at 90psi. i have to run it @ 125 psi to get decent power out of my tools. thats just my opinion on the thing. have fun.

Yup suspension and engine swaps are so much easier with a compressor...every garage should have one...by summer I am gonna get a premium paint gun.

I thought that air tools and a compressor would speed up things. For some things it does. But I found that most bolts/nuts etc.. are so hard to get to that the bulky air tool can't get to most of the bolts. So most of the time, I just use normal hand tools. Ratchet socket wrenches are nice though.

I do the same Jeff. I only use the air when its a bolt with tons of threads or very stuck on. I only consistantly use them on the lugnuts. The front suspension is all so cramped and the engine stuff is so precise besides the engine mounts.
