Water sux

Hey guys,
I need some opinions. On friday afternoon, I was driving through this lake( streets were flooded, and could not avoid it, LA rain) and basically sucked water though my S/C...and I guess water just went through my intake system...do u think I have a chance toi revive the engine or is it hopeless. what do i need to do to get it back on its feet? I am so pissed.

Worst case scenario is a hydrolocked engine, which probably means a bent rod or stretched head bolts.

from what I was told our engines have some sort of mechanism in them to shut them down before they hydrolock, so pull it apart and see

There is no such mechanism - I blew 6 inch holes through the block - i could see in through cylinder one, and out cylinder 2.

Did you crank the car after it die?If not you MIGHT have a chance, try to remove out the plugs first, and crank your motor to get all the water out, only if you didn't crank the motor after it die.Good luck.

I am always in fear of the same problem. I live in Florida and have had many encounters with flooded roads, in which I turned my *** around and found another route...otherwise I just dont go. Not worth it.
