Stock ECU, Z32 MAF, 740cc, 23psiFP...

And it starts!

I have emissions testing comming up so I tried this combo again. I think the warmer weather helps the start up. I still have to use the push button start to prevent the fuel dump from the key start. She stumbles a bit but once the e-manage kicks in she purs just fine. I have the correction set to 370/499, no reason just a guess. I have the AFM adjustment set to pull ~25% MAF vlotage at idle. She shows is in the 14.7 AFR range at idle and cruising. I drove her to work today and no CEL's so far. I just need to put the cat on and see if she passes...

Boy oh boy does the J&S dance with this set up. I have a 1bar spring in the WG that nets me ~13psi. AFR stays fat so far, I havn't wrapped her out much past 5k rpm with 9 psi peak. I had the J&S set to pull starting at ~8psi ~1deg per psi. I got a few cylinders poping 2-4 degrees, so I backed off. I have it adjusted now a bit more aggressively. It could be my immagination but it feels stronger with the stock ECU/J&S timing curve versus the JWT timing curve.

Matt, are you still running the water/alcohol injection kit. I am getting mine installed today since i am running the timming. Reading your post is making me glad i am going ahead and getting it installed .

Also how big have you gone on injectors with out any fuel management? I ask because for some reason i was able to start my car while running my PE 510cc injectors with 38psi of fuel pressure and the emanage unhooked. I was pretty confused on how the hell i got it to do that.

Yep i have a DIY WI kit, similar to what you have. 38 psi rolls it back to ~409cc, thats not too far out range for a cold start on a warm day in Lousyana.

I should be in the same boat as you in a couple of weeks, I have the 740cc, J&S, and Z32 Maf w/the stock ECU. So every thing seems to be running ok? We will see what will happen with mine. Also Mardi do you have a link to where i can custom make the led gauge for my J&S, if I can't find it I might just buy the gauge.

Not sure what you mean about 38psi rolling 510cc injectors back to 409cc injectors. I thought base FP was like 35psi?

Yeah if you don't have the FPR turned down or if you had the stock FPR then your base fp at idle with the Walbro will be about 43psi.

Since when do you have a water/alcohol injection chris?

Is where I got the 43 psi from.. had nothing to do with a maxima, just a standard that RC and others use.

I understand you now bro, 43psi is what the injectors are rated at correct? 43psi=3 bar?

Why don't you just pull more fuel throughout by setting the injector scaling factor to 260cc-740cc and then add the fuel in higher RPMs via the Additional Injection map?

Sweet...maybe it's time for you to just have JWT burn you a 740cc program with just a raised limiter but stock timing?

Also, speaking of your water injection kit, ever thought about using the Sub Injector map to control an injector or two for the water?

that is with the vacuum not hooked up. they are the same thing. 34 psi vacuum is the same as 43 psi unhooked (WOT)

How does the push button start differ from the ignition key start?

fuel dump from the key start. Their is a fuel dump for cold start that you can bypass by not using the key switch to turn the starter.
