Great find Tilley! I have heard something about this before.. I have 10 or so injectors that are extras.. I am going to look into this. Can any verify if this works?

There are a lot of wrong assumptions and flat-out misinformation in that thread. Removing the pintle cap and the restictor plate is just a SMALL PART of the process to highflowing stock injectors. That is all I thought was involved when I started... 6 mos and a couple thousand dollars later, I finally got it figured out.

Just an estimate, and probably a conservative one now that I think about it... Tons of injectors, specialized equipment and tools, flow testing, re-flowing testing, machining costs, AFR tuning, beta testing, etc, etc.

Will dremelling off the restrictor plate on on an injector flow more fuel? Yes, of course it will. Is it a completed product? No.

My primary career is in Biotech research and development. Anyone in R&D will tell you there are 2 ways to develop a product... the quick and dirty way, and the slow, tedious, expensive, RIGHT way. I've learned the quick and dirty way will come back to haunt you.

Wow, I think I should sell those guys some stock injectors I have laying around. They seem to be ruining the things left and right.

I love the question "are you sure those are 550cc's?" Followed by the answer "yeah, someone on the maxima forums said it was." Nice way of flow testing.

yup thats all he did, just dremal away and waalaa you have 550's. If you think its that easy, do it yourself and save the $300 for a new motor that you will be needing.

I just don't understand why people would want to go cheap on injectors. Come on guys, injectors are one of the most important things on a car. Why would you want to skimp. All i can say is i am happy i spent the money and did my fuel setup the right way

bc these people are cheap as he11. I've never quite understood some of the people even on this site. They will wait 2-3 months for a GD to save like $10, just not worth it to me. I have supadaves injectors which are high quality and professionally machined with flow charts etc not some crap someone did in the garage with a dremel.

i'm to impatient to be cheap. I never do the group deals because you only save a small amount and it isn't worth the aggravation of waiting to me.
