Some Pathfinder TB Questions ??

I was thinking of putting on a pathfinder TB to finish up my 3" charge pipe idea

What is intailed to switch over ?? After buying the TB I know I will need a transition plate that I guess ill make, but what about the coolant lines and the throttle lines, both cruize and regular ?? Do they hook in, and operate correctly ??

What year Pathfinder TB do I look for ??

I know Stephan knows alot about siwtching to the pathfinder TB so i hope he reads this
Also, Stephan are you still using the Pathfinder TB ? if not, why not ??

you need an adapter plate bewteen the IM an and PFTB. The cruise and throttle cables hook up fine as long as the adapter plate is not too thick.

The coolant lines that go throught the TB can simply be bypassed. Remove them and connect them together with a barbed nipple.

You also need a plate made to block off the bottom of the PFTB. The PFTB's IACV is under there. The block off plate needs to have a nipple for a vacuum hose.

Here is a pic showing the coolant line bypass and the vacuum hose uder the TB

The other stuff is adjusting the TPS sensor and boring out the IM to match the TB. Krismax made my adapter plate and block off plate for me, but I know stephenMax makes them as well.

The calibration is not hard....just take out your multi meter, and set it to spec. (look in the service manual for the specs). Also you can use a flapper wheels to sand down your intake neck....or you can use a dremel.

2K-2k1 IIRC

It is not a hard project if your able to get the adapter plates from StephenMax or Krismax. The TPS calibration is not a big deal, it just has to be done the TB off the manifold because it is way to hard to reach it with it on (The TPS is cocked 90 degrees witht the PF TB, making it hard to get to). So you calibrate the TPS to "spec" then put the TB on and see how the idle is. Then if adjustments need to be made to get a better idle speed it has to be taken off and recalibrated.

Boring out the IM is not bad if you got the right dremel bit. I spent 4 hrs porting it with the wrong type bit. Once I got the right one I finished it in 1/2 hour.

It is much easier to bore it out when it is off the car but you can do it with the manifold on the car. You should just stick a towel or something down the plenum so none of the shavings get it. However if you are going to take it off anyway then you had might as well wait and do it then.

I did it witht the manifold on the car, but off would definately be better. I just stuffed some towels down the IM and and a shop vac running next to the dremel to suck up the metal shavings.
