Question on fuel management

OK, ive read all the stickies and i have yet to find an answer to this question so please dont rip me a new one if its hidden deep somewhere and i havent yet found it. Im curious as to whether i can run an turbo and tune it with say...an emanage without needing an fmu as well. id rather buy just one for my kit and save myself the money.

with Emanage you will not need an FMU...just an adjustable FPR. go with emanage its a great tool for FI cars

SARD is a good brand, there are a few maxima guys using it. you can get that and the fuel rail adapter piece from SX7R.com

For any decent amount of FI, you need either a FMU or larger injectors to increase fuel. The stock FPR 1:1 ratio is all you need, if you're using eManage to control larger injectors.

There are some here that run an adjustable FPR to turn down base fuel pressure for larger 370cc injectors and then have a FMU bump pressure back up under boost. Another option is to run a Z32 MAF and an AFC like an Apexi SAFC to add fuel where needed.

Many ways to skin the fuel management cat, however IMHO larger injectors and the eManage is by far the most reliable, safest, and easiest to tune, although most expensive route. Just depends on what power level you're looking for on whether the stock 240cc-260cc injectors can be pushed.

ok great, i appreciate the help. i never knew there we so many diff ways because i was also considering getting the z32 maf but was hesitant because of the cost going through jwt for the chip. I also never realized the apexi and all those companies products were diff from the emanage so yeah, that cleared up a lot. Thanks guys.

ok while im on the subject, is it nessessary to get the z32 maf no matter the setup if i later on decide to go boost happy and crank it up a little?

FYI, you can run the Z32 MAF using Emanage, you DON'T need the JWT ECU. the Z32 MAF is definently helpful when you exceed the stocker...on Redmax's car we saw a voltage decrease drastically @ WOT with the Z MAF while when using the stock voltage would be maxed(ie-3.xV w/ Zmaf and 4.xV+ w/stock)

E-manage on top of the JWT ECU is a bit overkill since what the retuned ECU will do for you is mostly what what e-manage is for...ie controlling larger injectors, retarding timing...

I am going to have the JWT ECU boosted tune and then use my S-AFC II to make small corrections on top of that via a wide band on a dyno.

since i am an auto, i could also consider the technosquare with raised rev limiter and have an emanage to tune.

well, that sucks.... i have a friend with an auto and i swear it has no rev limit anyway cause he can tak it up to 7500 without a problem. guess 5 spd got skrewed on that one. I really need the raised rev limit too with the mevi to take advantage of the power and i dont want to go jwt. maybe that ash-spec stuff will turn out with something. guess i can only hope.
