Went to the track for the first time...

Mods were SC with 3.25" pulley, LSS Y-Pipe, the obvious weight reduction (1/4 tank of gas, no spare/tools, no floormats, etc.), passenger corner light removed.

The track is only a 1/8 mile. It is slightly up hill so I think everyone's times are slightly higher at this track. It was at night with fairly cool San Diego weather.

Just like with my G-Tech, my times got worse and worse each run (I assume heat soak?). My best time is listed below (too lazy to scan slip right now but I'll try to get around to it). I got in four races.

Race 1 - I beat a new 350Z auto with only an intake
Race 2 - I beat a CRX (not sure what he had)
Race 3 - I just barely lost to a turboed Dodge Stratus
Race 4 - I got my 4 doors blown off by a 3 door Civic.

Here are the numbers from my best run:
1.376s RT (don't laugh, first time)
2.449 60 ft
75.75 MPH
9.792 s

Sit at the light for 10 min, you can still run the same time.

Yup, get those reation times up and you will be tearing the track up with that SCer. It's crazy how much better your times get with an awsome time out of the gate. I kinda like the 1/8 mile track just for the simple fact that our torque destroys most cars in that small of a distance!

They were joking man, reaction time has nothing to do with your ET. You can sit at the light for 7 days and still run a 12 second pass.

Auto or 5spd? Those traps definately dont show that you have FI IMO no matter what the track elevation is.

i thought if u raced heads up where they factor in reaction time in your final 1/4 time then its im portant to get to the end first and leave the line first....but i might be wrong

if its a heads up bracket race you would want to leave the line as quick as possible, but in no way under any conditions does the r/t factor into the ET.

RT + ET = total time. In a real race the fastest total time wins the race. But the ET is how long it takes you to get down the track once you start moving. You could have a car run 10.00 with a 5.600 reaction time, total time of 15.500 seconds. The other car could run 15.00 with a reaction time of 0.500 seconds. The 10.00 second car is of course the faster car, but the 15.00 second car won the race by .1 seconds because his reaction time + his ET was lower in total. If he were in the right lane the timeslip would say he won (on the bottom it would say Right Finish First .100 seconds)

yea i was thinking the same that neal said. i know i watch a fair share od 1/4 runs at e-town and the pros have both rt& et factored.

Josh (Ptatohed) raced at Qualcomm Stadium. It's hardly worth calling a track. It's a makeshift track (setup and take it down the same night) in Qualcomm's parking lot.

Next, we're going to Fontana raceway and race on a real 1/4 mile track.

Oh, I forgot. I actually had 5 races. But since they gave me the wrong slip and I threw it away, it escaped my memory. I just barely lost to a new Mits. Evo.

I saw that in a magazine. Still looks like it would be pretty cool for heads up racing

Hey Corey. I do still owe you a ride. Sorry about that. I was just nervous because of the cops in the area. But I suppose we could have driven a short distance and then got on it. Next time, I promise.

Yeah, upload your Stillen day pics. I need to as well.
