Xterra Supercharger

Has anyone tried to use the supercharger setup from a Frontier or Xterra on their Max?
I can't get a single search function to work, so if so, then can you post a direct link?

Thanks

I believe Craig Mack managed to ram a roots-type in his.

I wouldn't even waste time with the Eaton blower from the Xterra/Frontier. Too much fab work for such crappy gains..

I thought the trucks used the same(similar) motors as us? Why would there be much fabricating, and why do you say crappy gains?

Ok, so the main reason no-one has done it is because it doesn't have any chance of fitting under the hood?

That's why you're better off with the Stillen kit. Its made for the Max.

That's pretty much the reason, although it could still be done Craig Mack style. But that would take some fabrication of a plenum to mount the blower to.

A roots blower would make some nice torque, but you can get more hp out of a centrifugal blower. All depends on what you're after.

Does Craig have site/pictures/write-up on how he did it?

He had a shop do it. His car was totalled like 2 days after he got it back. The Xterra/Frontier motor is in no way similar to the VQ (I'm assuming that's what you have). The amount of fab work to get that POS blower on there makes it pointless. If you have a VG as opposed to a VQ, your motor is still turned 90 degrees (FWD vs RWD/AWD) from the orientation of the VG33ER, so you will likely be screwed still.

In short, drop the idea unless you just want to be unique and spend a bunch of money/do a bunch of custom work yourself for crappy gains.
