They are working now. Those 3" pipes look like they mean business under the hood. I've never seen 3" SC piping on a max before.

I took one of my Old Silicone Couplings and cut about a 2 inch peice off of it...just enough to cover the section that I was clamping on..I put the 3" 90 degree coupling over it and clamped it down

I had to cut a bit off of the 90 degree coupling so it wouldnt rub against the light bulb housing but I made sure I didnt compensate the 90 degree at all
It really hurt cutting that $50 peice of rubber

Removing restrictions via bends or smaller diameters in the charge piping will free boost that your SC is already making but is being lost. How much I don't know, however SM is making more boost at all RPM then any others(besides blubyu2k2 T-trim maybe) IMHO.

Your TB is probably the biggest restriction, right? If so, I'd start there. I'd have Stephen port your IM to match a 70mm PF throttle-body first. Of course, you'll have to figure out how to make the IACV work, but I'd bet it's not that big a deal. Then I would upgrade the charge piping and clock the blower. Finally, swap the MAF or ghetto rig the sensor into a larger diameter PVC pipe. The last will require retuning and or swapping to the UE.

Right now I haven't really gotten any 7200 rpm pulls but at 6500 Im making a hair over 11psi on 95+ weather with the 3.125. Yes I've done a few pulls on the stock ECU . My next upgrade is the 3" charge piping which I think will gain quite a bit for me, decreasing a lot of turbulance. I also currently have a bored TB approx 68mm so its not totally worth it for me to spend $300+ for 2 extra mm's bore. Im destined to make 400whp on boost alone and I know for a fact headers and 2.87 will get me there, im just waiting to see how close I am with the 3.125.

IIRC I was toucing 14psi when I did once pull to 7k plus before JWT fubared my ECU. Im kind of scared to see what kind of boost the 2.87 will make.

I've been thinking about a FMIC for a while, but simply routing the pipes away from the engine helped reduce temps a lot without any appreciable pressure loss.

By the way, in the thread referenced above I talk about not being happy because of a chuffing sound at partial throttle because of compressor surge and backflow through the blower. I eventually fixed that problem by ditching the Blitz DD and installing a Vortech Mondo bov (largest bov in the free world).

Yes, the 370's aren't quite big enough at 14.5 psi.

You better buy a spare cover and polish it rather than using the one on your engine. It takes a while (but not nearly as much time as the USIM).
